Lallana was also Captain and had been here as a junior...he got his head turned as well. Will always be grateful to Jose for the past, but, IF he leaves, I will be seriously disappointed in him. I understand the reasoning, but that doesn't help deal with a feeling of being badly let down.
 
Fonte going? Wow. Every year we seem to lose someone where it's like "Him? I thought he was different to the others." and it seems like it's Fonte this summer.

Mind you I wanted us to buy a new first choice CB this summer to replace him so it's not the end of the world. Might be a bit premature but I'd be tempted to make Hojbjerg captain.
 
Apparently the journalist that wrote that ESPN gets United stories wrong a lot. Once broke Vlaar to United, never materialised. So could be nothing.

Agreed, especially as he's tried to convince the others to stay. Now he's in the same situation for the first time, and off he goes.

Age doesn't matter that much. Tony Adams became captain of Arsenal about the same age. I definitely think Steve Davis or VvD are more likely to actually get the job but Hojbjerg seems to have something about him so I'd be tempted .
 
Hojbjerg or VVD won't be here that long, rather give it to someone who most likely will be here for 3-4 years, although Davis is also a good shout.
 
Errr.....Didn't the same thing happen with our last Captain? A certain Mr Lallana, touching the badge and all that. Then the first chance of fame.........off they jolly well go?
Will be very surprised if Jose goes I really will............
