The problem with that is if Hobbs gets injured we'd have a seriously small CB pairing, i know Chester has shown he can make up for it but that's partly down to Hobbs (or Gerrard) taking on the taller striker most of the time
Again appearing on the Liverpool sites, albeit they still quoting the same source - The Daily Mail. http://kopthat.co.uk/2011/08/hull-c...campaign=hull-chase-liverpool-youngster-ayala
What's holding this up ? talks ongoing says NP. Can't we loan him in for a month and sort the finer details out whilst he's in our squad ?
He's out of out contract at the end of this season and they obviously want to flog him, they're not going to loan him to us when someone else might want to buy him.
I suspect they'll agree a deal, LFC probably holding out for £750k, it won't be a loan as he doesn't seem to have a future at Anfield. His slightly forlorn appearance at the KC during the friendly might suggest his heart is no longer in the Reds.. No word from Derby the only other club you'd imagine being interested in him...
Fair enough, and that loan month would shut the door on any permanent move before January. It just frustrates me that things don't move as quick as I'd like !?! Especially when I see this signing being one of our best for a long time, he's only 20 and will no doubt improve over the next 4-5 years. I rate him highly.
sound bites out of Liverpool indicate that he is on his way. dont think the fee is an issue just how its paid. patience.
If we enquired then put in a bid then I'd suggest a reasonable fee has been agree. I reckon it's as Frenchie suggests with we're negotiating on how the fee will be paid.
Quoting from the BBC article :- Pearson said: "We've enquired after the player, we've put a bid in." He added: "Whether that develops before the weekend I don't know. "We'll try and do it as we always do it, in a quiet way, but for sure that's where we're at." I think that quote sums up what is excellent about the way the club goes about its business these days, transfers are dealt with professionally and quietly with a touch of class. What a contrast to the previous incumbents.
NP normally keep everything close to his chest, he would make a good poker player. Therefore for him to make that statement must mean that things are in an advanced stage.
Well Frenchy - no-one else has said it, but it's starting to look as if you were right. If so - have a pint on me!
i'll also drink to that mate. i never had any doubts Ayala would be ours. He wants tio work for NP. My source is well conected within the club. But its gonna be a long boozy weekend for sure.
oh I don't know, didn't you like.. "This is going to blow your socks off.. I shouldn't say it but... yeah what the hell I wear my heart on my sleeve.. we've put a substantial bid in for Daniel Ayala, he's exactly the sort of player we're interested in, I'd love an opportunity to sit down with him one to one.. love it.. Paul says money is no object, as well as a good mate he's a great chairman, we might offer Danny a 5 year contract with some tasty add-ons, in fact I might as well let it all out and admit Paul has jetted over to liverpool right now and we're nearly there.. Danny will be great in the Europa league when we finish 5th.." 2 days later "well, he signed for Sunderland.. at least we got up their noses.. anyway plan B is Daryl Murphy and if we can't turn his head there's Sonko.. erm that's off the record.." ahh the good old days..
