Tough question I can't answer. Football aint that simple is it? Would depend on my budget, his demands and who else is available, how much his agent is charging, If I'd had problems with that agent before. Can't answer the question without that information and it would be pointless making up a scenario
In the current market with championship players going for close to £14million l, Kone is worth every bit of £18million.
If you can produce footage of a single mistake that cost us I'll acknowledge that. From what I saw he was flawless and will be why Everton are interested in paying so much. Not saying he's perfect, he could end up being prone all season. But I don't believe these 'suspect performances' exist. I can't remember them. We went from having one of worst defences to having one of the best after arrived. By all means, prove your point.
What record of Papa is this you're referring too? Show me the comparison? Calling bull on this as I've just checked last years stats and Kone beats Dji on all but 2 defencive areas and he's playing in a tougher league. Dji also made an unforced error which led to conceding a goal.
About 3 or 4 times in 15 games Kone left space behind. As I recall he recovered the situation with a block or tackle each time.
He's monstrous in the air and he is incredibly quick for his size. He's more than tidy on the ball as well.
He's not a great 'footballer' as such, passing is limited, but Kaboul compliments that.
He's a superb CB, no mistake.

Khazri cost the most. Kirchoff next to nowt.
After a horrendous debut Kirchoff was taking all the plaudits for many a game.
Now this Kone saga is ongoing, he is now regarded as epic, must not sell.
So value for money Kone seems to have paid dividends.
He the best all round out of the 3 taking everything into consideration?
Cost. Performances. Resale etc.

You get two types of CB don't you? Stopper and Cover, Kone is a stopper, it's not often those kind of CB are good footballers. It's the covers who can ball play and titdy up. Kone is the best stopper we've had since John Mensah imo. Stoppers often leave space behind them, they tend to be less mobile, the fact he recovers instead of having to rely on his partner tidying up after him is a good thing imo.
He's been superb.....for 4 months though. We won't know how good he is until we've seen him play a full season. He's actually quite tough to value imo.
Khazri we really do owe some credit, the lad is a lovely footballer, vision, unbelievable first touch, creative and can shoot. He was a fantastic buy and again, for all he cost, he's worth more than we paid in my opinion.
Kirchhoff is just a fantastic, effortless and classy footballer. He oozes Bayern Munich. Never flustered, always a step ahead.
These were 3 magnificent buys for a relative pittance, they really work.
Bri, the great thing, as I've said before, with the KK CB partnership is the absolute and utter leadership and direction of Kaboul.
He is pointing, shouting and directing the line. He is massively responsible for PVA's significant positional improvement, I genuinely think a for Kaboul is as vital as anyone in the side, he will improve any defender at our level alongside him, it's just that fitness thing, when he gets a knock he is way off the pace on his return.
If he stays fit, I'm confident we will be tight at the back whoever he partners, he's such a significant presence when for and in form.
Stoke away Bri, check him out for their goal. I'm no t having a go at him, the defence improved with his addition along with Kirchhoff, Yann and Cattermole in front of them along with Borini and Khasri tracking back.
Not knocking him Bri, just agreeing with a few others that he isn't as good as some are making out. In my opinion M'Villa is a better midfielder than Kone centre back. Its just my opinion, everyones differs.
Check how he loses his man and goes to ground against Stoke.
Why can't you post it? Not saying it doesn't prove your point, I'm saying it's your point to prove.
BTW I know it's the one where Kaboul was blatantly fouled and everyone stopped.

Having Kone and M'Vila signed on and starting against Man City would not only have been a positive due to the fact that they are good players, it would have given us, as fans, a huge confidence booster for the start of the season and this may have rubbed off on the team. However instead of roaring into a new season we a probably going to enter it with a whimper. The feelgood factor may have had just as much influence on our opening results than the performance of the mentioned players. Kone and M'Vila may make the odd mistake but when you compare them to some of the brain dead idiots that we have had to endure over majority of the past 10 seasons they are world beaters. The odd mistake could be peanuts compared to the influence that these 2 players can hold over the positive outcome of a football match.
Hey Bri, I'm not posting Stoke City's goal where he was at fault, do't want to knock the lad, he did so many good things as well, I think he is a good player, but not as you say flawless. Thats your opinion and I respect it.
I thought his agent was Willie macmoney !, that's what most of them should be called. You can see how these things are set up, say Kone is on £40,000 a week his agent then puts it about a club are in for him, so he has to be offered £50-60,000 a week to make him happy so how much does the agent get ?. I read he had signed a 4 year contract so if that is so that is that. If we sold him to get Bony/Fellini now that is a different matter, but not Junajaz on loan.
OK fella I can respect your opinion but not your point, and you can understand why surely? I'm not running off to prove your point for you. Bit of a pisstake bringing up a point and expect people to go and do the graft fro you. Not your errand boy. Done enough of that in that past. Not pandering to the lazy of the board anymore.
Maybe he wasn't flawless, but one mistake where he wasn't the only one at fault is nitpicking to me. Especially when you compare it to a player who made more mistakes.

No malice intended to the lad at all, it's general gripe and like I said. I respect his opinion. 
Bri, I didn't ask you to upload it, you asked me to back it up and I just said check it out if you had missed it. I'm not nit picking, he was marking the lad who scored, no one else, he made an error and isn't flawless. Crossed wires , no offence meant. As I said, hope we keep him.
No offence caused fella. As I remember. Kaboul, his covering defender(his job in the defence) Stopped playing and could have applied some pressure to help cover his stopper. I remember being annoyed the he didn't play to the whistle and was left in no mans land as a result. A forward getting the better of a defender isn't a mistake for me, it's just part and parcel of the game as defenders getting the better of forwards is also common place.
I'd go even further and call him our best stopper since Emerson Thom.
