I agree I actually respect these people more than overpaid footballers etc to a degree, however they're mainly all little rich kids yet all I'm hearing is about what they've sacrificed!

 

We are still **** at the real Olympics ie track and field

Seriously when is the marbles?

 

We finished 4th overall at Athletics in 2012 and 8th overall in Beijing. Hardly ****.

We didn't even finish the marbles; Chippy was in the team and he'd lost his so we were disqualified.

You joke but they have introduced Skateboarding for the Tokyo Olympics.

 

And speedclimbing.

 

Spparently Brazil wanted to introduce mugging for these games but were turned down.

That's a shame. We could have entered Pardew and MacClaren in the synchronised mugging and walked it!

 

...though we would have been pipped at the line!!!

 

Im not so sure, France would have a strong team in Sissoko and Obertron. Marveaux was a contender for their team as well but he had injured his leg so wasn't even able to walk it.

 

Thank God British Athletics funds the south more than the north otherwise we'd be deluded

 

When they introduce Ferreting as an Olympic Sport I am sure that this will redress the balance.

 

I reckon they should introduce doing laps into the rowing like in swimming. Those 8 seat boats having turn around at the end, bumping into each other would provide far more entertainment.

 

You really do start to realise why some of these sports only get on the telly once every 4 years.

 

Two great pictures from Rio in the last few days, the first was the lifeguard sitting behind Michael Phelps
the second was the female beach volleyball (of all sports) player from Egypt who was wearing a sporting hijab.....glad to see that the stupidity of religious wear extends to women's sport with some muslim countries.

 

One of the group women's rugby sevens games had a funny moment where the ball was kicked down downfield and the receiving player jumped up to catch the ball and it just stotted off her face. The 4 or 5 replays confirmed the incident was funny as ****.

 

Oh and the Serbian rowers capsizing raised a chortle.
