Just a couple of e/w flutters today at small stakes that caught my eye. - George Margasson seemed to think that Lady Kaviar (33/1) could do better on his ATR stable tour and at those prices you don't have to stake much. She's in the decent looking Kempton maiden (hence the price) at 6:40. Ger Lyons has a few of his string improve for second run and Noble Intention (16/1) had a bit of a rough introduction last time out and might show up a bit better today with less interference. That's in Gowrans opening maiden. The listed event at Gowran at 7:00 also catches my eye with two Charles O'Brien runners entered in the shape of Santa Monica (12/1) and Uninhibited (16/1). Both seem to finish their races well and Santa Monica came home like a train LTO to finish a neck behind a future Group 3 winner BEST IN THE WORLD. You would hope at least one of them makes this a right old test and in a big field for this event it might all fall into place for one of them, so two e/w singles and am RFC for me. Little e/w singles and trixies.
Salisbury 220 Akhaaq (price had gone on sticks tip) 350 Sharja Queen 420 Master Gunner Beverley 200 Rag Latter 330 Age of Elegance 430 Space Mountain 3 singles 3 doubles and a treble at each meeting Anybody watching ATR with "ask the handicapper"? Thinks the "dodgy" treble last week in Ireland is bad for racing! Personally (even not being on it) I think its good for racing lets punters see occasionally the bookie gets stung! Braggin about putting up a Sir Mark P horse 15lbs last week or so, well done sir people have been asking for this for years or enjoying repeated winnings whilst you catch up!
Well she wasn't quite good enough to win today and in hindsight her pedigree screams that she wants further. She will pay her way. Maybe some of you took note of my footnote however. Mr Candy had two winners on the card at 11/2 and 4/1 and still has some more to come this evening. Well done Bob and Don, forum banging in the winners!
We'll have a go at a few at Gowran. Pronounced 6.00 Wasn't far behind Sir Dreamalot at Galway and is three pounds better off. Time for Mabel 6.30 Has ben in decent form over hurdles and has some useful form on the flat. Assume 7.00 Her second behind Creggs Pipes at Killarney looks to be pretty solid form. Rahyah 7.30 Most of these loo to be harshly handicapped yet this one could be chucked in off a mark of 70.
