Might sound a bit wierd but Benteke at £32m is almost looking like a bargain with the prices this window. Wasn't it 9 goals from 14 starts while playing in a team he didn't fit with. The market is bizarre like it always seems to be after a TV deal when clubs seem desperate to spend the money they haven't yet received !. Good job i don't do my finances the way most PL clubs do .

I'd be intrigued to see a 442/433 hybrid.

Karius
Clyne Matip Lovren Moreno
Can Hendo
Mane ----------------Wejnaldum
Origi Firmino
Obviously this system commits Coutinho, but he could replace Wejnaldum.

According to Marseille based Le Phoceen the deal for Georges-Kevin is off. He got closer than Berahino and Damiao but it seems that it is "Au revoir."

Could the purchase of Pogba have a positive effect on our recruitment?

If Pogba can go to a non CL playing club, then we should have a chance of recruiting top players even if we are not in Europe. It's all about what 'incentives' we provide them ? <whistle>

Unless we recruit top players we will remain behind. We need a clear out. Benteke and ballotelli have been disappointments but also for me Firmino has not met expectations either.

Only if we're willing to spend stupid amounts on the transfer fee and offer £300k a week in wages.

We simply can't compete financially so we have to be smarter. Whilst they're not big names, Mane, Matip and Karius have strengthened three positions this summer and without breaking the bank. The level of improvement remains to be seen but I do expect an improvement nonetheless.

Disagree on Firmino - he got at least 10 goals and 10 assists last season despite it being his first season and missing a chunk due to injury. I think he'll be our star play next season. <ok>

Well said. The original question i get but pogba is unusual in that real stood back snd said no chance but utd said anything juve want.

The player then gets double what we can pay

Utd are like city were... shovelling money at the problrm til thet reestablish their credentials.

As for firmino im just worried hes over weight and will he wrk as hard..

great deal for everton. cheslea give them 65mil... they spend 15 of it and pocket 50 mil

about the same effectiveness as players. bony is not great but lucky is as lazy as sin.

Pogbas transfer is only a negative effect on recruitment and football.

A player which never performed well at the Euro's, has attitude issues and has done nothing in his career on note to give the value Man u have paid for.

Pogba's transfer has just confirmed that it doesn't matter that your not a world class football to get a record breaking fee.

I would never want us to go down the route on paying record breaking numbers on players who you don't know how they will turn out. We killed ourselves with breaking records in the club with Carroll/Benteke/Lallana etc.

news in bild (which is a terrible lair of a rag)

Dahoud will be available for bascially nothing (10mil euros) next summer.

So LFC might be waiting.
