I've just looked it up. If I've found the right one, andy, you're on the right lines, just the wrong sport and my mention of a bat was closer than I thought!

Blind cricket ball it is. We had a demonstration at the Ageas Bowl recently (not the umpires or the Championship match!) and the players clearly absolutely loved it....especially hitting sixes into the crowd.

 

If you were at a football match and saw an official issue a black card, what would it mean?

It's the equivalent of our red card, ie a disqualification.

 

Yorkie has the right sport, but they also have red cards. There is a difference between the meanings of black cards and red cards.

 

Ah! Note to self - read the question.
I'm guessing that black card is sending off and red card is not, but has some consequence eg sin-bin.

 

You gave me the clue to the previous question by mentioning the blind, so I'll give you this one. A red card is a straight sending off, where a black card is basically an enforced substitution.
