I'd rather see Parker than White at left back. Both of them will get turned inside out, but I think Parker's more likely to put a foot in and he always goes on a few decent overlapping runs down the line. Ideally a new signing will come in there. Edit: you sure Parker's injured bucks? He was playing left-back on Sunday and looked about the same as everyone else fitness wise.
I agree about Parker starting. I just think he is a better defender Even if we get someone new in its a risk chucking him straight in there...
Because they've been ripping apart League 1 defences. Anyway, I'm not saying they don't have the ability, just that the step up needed for this league could take a few games to get used to, and even then they won't be running rings around every defender like they did last season. But it's a very even league generally. My point was more every team will be of at least the same quality as the top league 1 teams last year, especially as the weakest team in the division this year is expected to be Peterbrough. There are no easy games in this league. I think they will two, eventually. I just think that, like us, it will take a bit of time for them to adjust and find their feet.
avin a laugh? the three relegated teams would not have beaten us, neither would the likes of derby and doncaster and loads of others. we have a lot of championship experience in our squad, the entire back 4 and the majority of the midfield. some of our main players have premiership experience, richardson, chaplow, davis, jaidi, barnard and connolly. you were ****e when we played you last, your boys couldnt handle us. underestimate us at your peril you sound very arrogant, we havent lost at home since december and hardly conceded. if you think "the occasion will get to us" you are very naive.
I think your being naiive and arrogant if you seriously think you were that strong. Richardson was **** at this level. Your seriously underestimating (key word in this thread clearly) the strength of the teams in this division and if your team do the same you will be relegated.
the last 2 years weve played prem and championship teams and never been disgraced, in fact performed better than the majority of them. you guys didnt have a great team last year and all three promoted teams did well. there is absolutely no reason why we cant win, everything points to a home win. so one person you think was crap, just leaves all the others we wont be relegated we have money
I've just been on Skybet to put on my annual league-winners accumulator, and I noticed that they had us as joint 5th favourites to win the division (at 14/1). So you're not the only one who thinks we could do well (personally, I don't think we'll be anywhere near the play-offs). You guys by the way are down as joint 11th favourites, at 20/1.
Im extreamly sure Adkins won't let the players underestimate anyone. He is a great motivator and also a realist!
To say that the step up from League One to the Championship is massive is stupid. You only have to look at history for that, last year all three promoted teams did well, Norwich going up again, Leeds missing out on the play offs as they did their annual choke, and Millwall finishing in the top half after being everyones bankers for relegation. If you compare those three teams to us this year, I would say that Norwich had a better squad than we do atm, but I think ours is similar to Leeds' and better than Millwalls. Based on this 100% scientific facts I would say that we will finish about 8th this year, beating Leeds at home on the way
I can't see how we won't be cut open by Leeds. I can't see how Leeds will keep us out. I see goals galore. Based on my prediction form of last year, that makes this game a stick on 0-0
but thats 20 000 so far, theres bound to be more ticket sales leading up to sat and on the day, add leeds allocation to the ticket sales so far and thats about 23000, with plenty time left for more to be sold
We sold our allocation within 14 minutes & I expect saints to sell theres as well. But lets not forget this is now a later kick off & sky are all over it. Still the Atmosphere will be a great one
You say you have the better players and mention a couple. You say our players were good in league 1 but are likely to need time to develop, this may be true............It means our players are where yours was at the beginning of last season. Now were you singing their praises this time last year or were you saying then that they will need time? I think I know the answer to that and so do you. So don't knock us for doing the same. The one thing we all agree on it ain't going to be easy for whoever.......
Jen Cut offs from applications. If we still have 100 left then it will be from supporters clubs sending them back, but they will probably go.
