Always had a wee interest in Fencing [yes, I like a well made brick wall too
], as my two eldest brothers who did nothing sportive at all as they were growing up actually did learn how to Fence with the foil. They had the gear too, and after a good while, some idea. But first the eldest gave it up after a few months then the other didn't want to go either. So that was the end of their competitive lives. They still regale me with the odd story.

Konta through in straight sets. She struggled initially against an opponent hundreds of places below her, but it must be very stressful at the Olympics. You play badly in a tour match and there will be another along in a week or two, but, after years of anticipation, you could blow everything in an hour at the games.
