I think our pre-season won that for us - we looked sharper and more organised.

We'll face more difficult tests as all the other teams hit their stride but I also think there'll be more to come from us in a creative sense.

Polter's technique for that finish was sublime.

    Football's a wonderful game. :) :)

Watched it with 30 hoops in Melbourne, reckon we won't see Gladwin for a while. Mass looked switched on, bidwell looks quality, Chery is our playmaker, shodipu will be a regular, bfg will run til he drops. Encouraging start.
    Time for bed now

Very nice win to start the season. Leeds sliced us open a couple of times rather easily 2nd half, so JFH will want to work on that, but otherwise a lot of encouraging play in a good team performance.

Good result, but Leeds were poor. Still, you can only beat what's put in front of you. I think we'll be hard to beat this year. Superb performance by Luongo

Glancing at the BBC match stats I see Leeds somehow managed 57% overall possession, but their 8 shots on goal, 0 on target seems to sum up their apparent lacklustre performance. For us 15 / 8 and 3 goals.

Just back from game. Really impressed with the performance. JFH really has a good team of workers. Polter played really well (a bit of humble pie from me but judging him on last season he has improved 1000 percent).
Chery a real star and we will do well to keep him. Shabpido (whatever) had a fab first half. Gladwin is a weak link.
Massive Leeds were poor so will give it 10 games before i start calling for promotion.
Highlight was the announcer on helium.

Great start and lovely to watch the spirit and camaraderie amongst the players. Just one person missing from the praise for me (based on the TV coverage, I wasn't at the game).

    Karl Henry.

Excellent start. We look extremely solid at the back, think we'll be hard to score against this season. Full credit to Jimmy for getting us so organised.
Luongo and Henry were outstanding in the middle of the park, the former the man of the match for me. Chery and Polter did extremely well up top against a gigantic defensive line, great to see. Considering shodipo's age etc, it was a solid debut. Flashes of superb technical ability mixed in with some wayward play.
Only slight negative was Gladwin, looked well out of his depth to me. Not sure if he fancies playing on the right but a passenger at times. Onwards and upwards, you R's!

Good to meet you before the game.
    I owe you a drink.

I thought we looked pretty good today. Leeds were poor, but we looked very organised and we finally have a team that fights for the shirt.
Bidwell looks solid and Caulker and Hall looked good, although they got opened up a couple of times.
We need a right back but Ned was fine today.
Luongo was my man of the match.
Henry was very good and I'll never understand the criticism he gets from some on here. I like the look of Cousins.
Chery, Shodipo and Polter were all very good.
Gladwin is pants though and did a good impression of Matt Phillips in not tracking back to help Ned at all.
All their threat came down that side.

All in all we looked pretty good and Polter took his goal superbly.

Great start from Jimmy and the boys.

Well, we certainly have our Rangers back at last.

After all the debate about what SLF and JFH were doing last season and the usual flannel from the new signings about how they want to prove what they can do, we finally have a team and one with some considerable talent, desire and commitment to play as a team.

Goals do, of course, change games and Rob Green's helpful fumbling for the goal was sad to see if you are a Leeds fan but a joy for us as we go one up after less than 4 mins. That took the sting out of some of the Leeds fans' noise though, to be fair, they were fairly vocal throughout.

Jimmy promised us higher tempo and harder pressing game and we were not disappointed. On many occasions Leeds were dispossessed by the tenacity of QPR with Luongo perhaps offering the best example.

Agree with Col that Karl Henry looked like a man reborn and barely set a foot wrong. It really is time for the Henry out brigade to move on and appreciate what the man does - most of the time.

I was disappointed that Cousins did not start so was excited when he came on as a sub. He looked lean, mean and hungry with an athletic build that augured well. He did not disappoint displaying speed, skill and a hunger to play for the team. He won a clear penalty and I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this lad.

The defence did well though we will meet much stiffer opposition than Leeds who were poor today for whatever reasons. I was impressed with Caulker who seemed very comfortable in his own skin and played with confidence.

The BFG?! Nuff said. You have to love the guy. Love the way he chases lost causes and occasionally converts them wonderfully as he did today.

Most of all it was a great team display today with good communication, desire and energy. All the players did well, with the possible exception of Gladwin, but let's not be too negative on the day of such a good win.

My two lads were with me today - they don't get to games very often - so that was the cream on the cake for me.

Bloody hell an enjoyable, professional performance. Nice.

Luongo stand out for me. Faurlinesque was mentioned at the back of the Loft. Let's hope he doesn't spend too much time flying to Australia and back this season. Bidwell looks a proper left back. Cousins strong when he came on. The Big German worked his large socks off and deserved his well taken goal. Poor Gladwin was lost, too often caught in dead space between players, and his booking and what should have been his sending off were caused by panic. But the new French wonder kid will replace him next match. I think Roller suggested Henry at RB, I'd go with him or Perch there, with Luongo and Cousins in the middle of midfield, though Henry was good there today.

Shodipo. Hmmm. Allowances must be made for first competitive start and youth, but not hugely impressive for me. Has this modern, doubtless coached thing, of turning back so as to keep possession rather than taking his man on. Delivery was very wild. Worth persevering with, but El Khayati did more when he came on, in my view.

Good to have a positive start and also to see so many posters at the pub and in the Loft.

Nice touch on the penalty, Polter and Chery had a brief discussion about who was going to take it and Polter gave Chery the ball. Contrast to last season where Austin had to rip it out of The Big German's hands for a penalty against Rotherham. Nice team spirit.
