With regards to the OP. I suggested Ciaran Clark for us this transfer window, I think he's a very underrated player. Definitely premiership quality. Newcastle's centre halfs of Mbemba, Lascelles and Clark, could well be formidable for years to come. Although this is Newcastle and they could come out and look like complete divs In all seriousness, Newcastle have spent a lot of money, like they did last season, but this time around they have spent it really well. They have brought in exactly the sort of players, I would have liked to see us go after, had we dropped down a division. I also agree with whoever said the Championship looks poor at the moment, it does. Having a lot of teams in that league who used to play in the Premiership makes no difference whatsoever.
Still, it's nice to be able to get smug about their signings. They are chasing players like Matt Ritchie about while we go in for Yann M'Vila
Not gunna happen, mate. We will continue to fight relegation until one season, we do go down. Then we'll blame poor managers, signings, pre-season, Adam Johnson, Margaret Byrne. We'll blame everybody and everything apart from that penny pinching nugget.
Why would they wanna chase players like M'Vila when they have Jack Colback on their books? You don't have Michelle Keegan in your bath with you and look at pictures of Subo on your phone.
****ing legend. He got a bit of a raw deal when he was here, if we are honest. He just wasn't that rich of a man, in footballing terms. Give us our Reidy days, The SOL and AOL. I'll forever be grateful to him. Murray got out at the right time, though. So did Drumaville. This summer, I feel it was time for ES to leave.
Only time will tell .......... how many people said they'd spent really well with the players they bought in the PL, loads. What was it, £80 million? Who knows how Gayle will perform or the rest?
50m in the summer, and another 30m in January. It's a valid point you make, I just feel that this time they've brought in players who know the league and have experience. That was a big mistake they made last season. It's all guesswork at the moment, but my gut feeling is that players like Dwight Gayle will score pretty freely down in that division. Mind you, I wouldn't want Dwight Gayle or Matt Ritchie in my premiership starting XI. So, if Newcastle do come back up then they'll need another 50m or so spend just to try and catch up with the bottom teams.
This summer was the time for Short to either spend big and back the new manager with signings or sell up. Re Murray, yep he got stick at the time and its a shame he doesn't get much credit off some fans.
