Let me actually post some transfer rumours....


Saints are interested in Wesley Hoedt according to the Italian press.

Don't get me wrong, it'd kill me walking away, but I just can't imagine supporting a club that just assumed success revolved around the balance sheet and how full their trophy cabinet was. It made me slightly uncomfortable that we bought a load of talent when we restarted in league one, but the difference between us and the City and Chelsea's of the world is that we've invested in an already successful academy/infrastructure with the plan of using it to develop young footballers. I've had the pleasure of visiting and even if they don't make it with us, they produce good footballers who are balanced individuals off the pitch and who are an asset to the club they move to and where they were developed.

If we were ever bought out in the way City were, I would not be dancing anywhere, I find it very hard to imagine young fans of those clubs like City that have been bought out and consider a crisis to be not winning 3 games in a row.

Am I right in thinking Fonte did an interview on Sky Sports 1 this afternoon? Did anyone catch it? What did he say?

I didn't. But he is still conspicuous by his absence on social media. You'd think he would have posted something about being back at Saints for pre-season, Cedric has, but he hasnt. But then he was in the photoshoot today, and although he looked unhappy yesterday evening, he did turn up to the match (and in front of all the fans) when he didn't have to. I don't know what to think.
 
I think us fans read way too much into this sortve thing. Why haven't they tweeted? Why no instagram pictures? Why wasn't he smiling in that photo? Etc etc. Unless there are actual signs he is unhappy or wants out the I wouldn't worry. He is our captain and he is loyal (so far).
