    Exactly.

He'd have to pretty much win the World Cup to get considered for a 'top job'.

However, if he keeps us up, he'd be a shoo-in for the next tier of jobs in the PL - Southampton, WHU and so on.

On the other hand Wales qualifying for the World Cup would be easier to achieve than keeping City up this coming season.

True in a sense. But in another, the longevity of a Premier League manager is not all that.

How many times have WHU and Soton changed managers in the last five seasons? Off the top, I reckon circa three times each.

Can't say I'm convinced by Coleman, a few games in the European Championship is hardly enough to counter failures elsewhere. However if he gets it I'll back him and hope he changes my mind.

    True.

But sportsmen like a challenge, like the rewards and are sometimes ruled by money.

    I agree with this.

However, if he could recreate the determination that the Wales team have shown over the last two years then maybe, just maybe we'd have a chance.

    West Ham: Allardyce 2011 & Bilic 2015
    Southampton: Pochettio 2013, Koeman 2014 & Puel 2016

I don't think either of them would consider Coleman if they had a vacancy

So, those type of jobs come up fairly regularly.

If Coleman does a job with us for a couple of seasons: keeps us up and progresses us, then I could see him being considered a job of that ilk.

what would be his prospects if he managed us to relegation? would he have been better off staying with Wales on half the money?

Have you been linked with Nigel Adkins?

Would have thought he'd have been up for it. Got a good record at this level provided he's given time.

Surprises me if Zola takes the job now knowing that he was 3rd ish choice.

Unless he is going to be paid a hefty salary.
