Such a huge last 8 overs here. Score could still be 250 or 290. Somerset have bits and pieces left rather than frontline batters.
Could have done with a batsman. That being said if we could resign McLaren as a Kolpak we could sign an overseas batsman.
Laurie Evans wants to leave Warks to play more four day cricket. But he's still under contract, and Chopra going probably won't mean that Warks can be as accommodating with him as we were with Briggs. Surprised Dawson bowled himself again here.
I'll very happily take that. Not that I think the chase will be easy, mind. Still not much sign of Sussex posting anything decent vs Kent.
Poor season but tempered by some real talent coming through. Injury free we could be a real force next season. Wood, Topley, Wheal, Berg and McLaren with Dawson and Crane is a hell of an attack. Batting wise Alsop looks to have a massive future. Roll on next April.
Whilst they might not have had the greatest of seasons, I think I'd be rolling the dice tomorrow and starting with Crane and Best. Every chance that they'll both leak runs for fun, but if anyone is going to rip through a side, it'll be one of those two compared to Wheal or Andrew. We're just starting to get quite desperate for victories now. And besides, if they play on the same wicket as yesterday, then Crane is a must. Adams, Smith, Alsop, Dawson, Wheater, Weatherley/McLaren/McManus (in whatever order), Berg, Best, Crane Berg down at 9 means that Andrew's (inconsistent) superiority with the bat over Best and Crane becomes irrelevant. I know they're up at 4th in the table, but it isn't a great Lancs team (especially without Wagner, not to mention Buttler and Jimmy). They are beatable.
Test getting depressing. After losing an early wicket, Pakistan are 104-1. England couldn't get another wicket without a 12 bore shotgun.
