It really does beggar belief that we are just three days away from the start of the season and have yet to make any significant signings. We have one striker who's any good and half a defence which will soon be decimated further with the departure of Ollsson. There can be no excuses, we've had 4 out of 5 seasons in the Prem, we have money but refuse to pay the going rate.

Assuming this is true and not Fulham/agents trying to inflate the price/force our hand . Then I really do dispair of our shower running the club!

Bah!

The Daily Fail was the same source that said definitely that we had put in a £12m bid for McCormack. I think I'll wait and see on this one. That's about how positive I can get on this one KIO. :emoticon-0105-wink:

So, if these bids for Olsson and Brady come to fruition, we'll have lost Redmond and Martin (to injury) down the right hand side and Olsson and Brady down the left.
I hope Plan B includes playing the entire season with an extremely narrow midfield, Murphy twins excepted <yikes> <doh>

Love how all the " bids" for players are followed on Sky Sports with the odds on them moving

Wonder how much money they make out of people betting money they have not got on deals they know nowt about!

Mail reporting Villa have matched Fulham's asking price for McCormack of £12M + add ons and he could be a Villa player by tomorrow. Seems our bid was £1M short, fannying about for three months means we have lost out. Having said that I was never comfortable with us paying that sort of money for a 30 year old, then again if he was here only one season and his goals fired us back to the Prem .....

We should never have even been considering paying that much for an ageing Championship striker, whose value to us in the long term would have been dubious at the very least. Far better to have kept our attentions on Assombalonga, which according to reports we seem to be returning to, who in the long term, ought to be far more beneficial, and at a lower price. Just as long as we don´t take a month to sort that one out, as well ;)

Easy enough shipping players out, though is it not?

Declan Rudd has joined @CAFCofficial on a season-long loan. [HASHTAG]#ncfc[/HASHTAG] Full story: http://norw.ch/DRLoan

Nothing wrong with that, excellent move for him.

Jeez this effing football club <grr>
Not the most reliable of sources but with nothing better to go on...
If the window was open until December we'd still be faffing around, offering well below players' valuations, etc. We play hardball when it comes to selling players, (Brady) but when it comes to bringing them in we still fall horribly short. I'm getting a tad pissed off with it, to be truthful <grr>

I don´t honestly think offering £12 mill in this case, is ´offering well below players´valuations`. On the contrary, McCormack has been grossly overrated and overpriced.

I do realise that, and I agree that we shouldn't be held to ransom, as it were. But it has just seemed to become another "all one's eggs in one basket" scenario, a little like Brady last summer and Naismith :emoticon-0112-wonde back in December. Shoddy transfer dealings - and if we're not careful, we'll get such a bad rap it will become even harder <yikes> to attract decent players here.

I think what perhaps surprises me most this summer, so far, is the near complete lack of transfer rumours.

Canos was rumoured, signed, our pursuit of McCormack has been well documented, then Assombalonga, Accam, perhaps Pritchard, but is that it?

I know it's not fashionable to make up rumours for non-Premier League clubs, but I would've expected more. Perhaps our club have silenced the leaks from previous windows that became tentative rumours, but I can't even think of any dubious twitter rumours from abroad this summer.
