Mail reporting Villa have matched Fulham's asking price for McCormack of £12M + add ons and he could be a Villa player by tomorrow. Seems our bid was £1M short, fannying about for three months means we have lost out. Having said that I was never comfortable with us paying that sort of money for a 30 year old, then again if he was here only one season and his goals fired us back to the Prem .....

Jeez this effing football club <grr>
Not the most reliable of sources but with nothing better to go on...
If the window was open until December we'd still be faffing around, offering well below players' valuations, etc. We play hardball when it comes to selling players, (Brady) but when it comes to bringing them in we still fall horribly short. I'm getting a tad pissed off with it, to be truthful <grr>

Shame he couldn't go to the championship on loan, but hopefully he can be Charlton's number 1 for the season and really improve.

With Remi Matthews at Hamilton, are Ben Kilip, Jake Hallett and Aston Oxborough (our U23 keepers) sufficient for the third 'keeper role? Kilip spent some of last season on loan at Lowestoft Town...

See post 1956. Plan C is what ?

This offering way under the valuation then gradually increasing tactic is pretty amateurish.
Fulham would probably sell to Villa over us for fannying them about .

I tend to agree that £12M plus add ons was too much and unless our midfield has improved dramatically since last season, he'd be living off scraps.

Yes, I can see us spending around £5M on someone we've never heard of and they'll be as successful as Naismith!!! <doh>

Pritchard could have/would have improved the "feeding on scraps" theory, but he doesn't look like he'll be heading our way either.

As the General says "Bah !"

Definitely agree re Pritchard OCF, but he's been bought by one of our opponents as well.
Let's hope we see a couple of new players in soon. <ok>

Any news on the standard of tea lady we currently have at the club?
Tea lady situation is surely what we'll turn to next. Expect ReadNorwich to be dominated by "Three tealadies Norwich should sign from Burnley", VitalNorwich blasting the club in a three line 'report'. A few days later, we'll see MyFootballWriter have an article arguing how we all need to lower our sights a little, and remember that we don't actually have the biscuit budget to attract Gladys from WBA.

Ed Balls will be interviewed leaving his dance studio and insist that the club are doing everything they can to ensure we sign the staff we need, finally announcing on transfer deadline day that we're actually happy with our options in the Tea Making Department, and that we'd been chasing a big signing for till staff in the club shop, but Jim from Yeovil had decided that his family wouldn't be able to settle somewhere so isolated with poor transport links.

Our expensive team of transfer negotiators aren't much cop.
NCFC "How much is Brit A ?"
Forest "10 million but we don't want to sell him"
NCFC "Well give you 7 take it or leave it".
Forest "No thanks "
NCFC "How much for McCormack? "
Fulham "He has a 15 million release clause and we will hold out for that "
NCFC "How about 10 ?"
Fulham "No"
NCFC "11"
Fulham "No"

NCFC " We appear to have pissed off Fulham and the season kicks off with us down to 1 striker and Lafferty , how much is Brit again ?".
Forest "Ha ha ha ha"

He He !! Classic DD.

Hope CamJam doesn't get crocked before Saturday as that will leave us with just Kyle "Bet I don't get a start" Lafferty and Carlton Morris as our strike force. That tea Lady that DH mentions in his post above better get some hard yards in before the weekend as she could be on the bench.
