I just caught something on the news stream about Leeds signing "Hernandez"! It was a different Hernandez.
It is probably more likely that Diame had a release clause set at a certain amount (it appears it's £4.5M) and a separate 'relegation clause' which lowered his wages and the trigger amount. Our promotion will have cancelled the relegation part of the release clause and it will have reverted to the standard trigger amount.
No? I've already said they were both essentially FA's as we offered them new deals following the final season of their contract. Essentially being the key word here. I'm really not interested in another 5 page argument where you smugly proclaim you were technically right and no one else really gives a ****.

Elmo and Huddlestone both signed new deals after the final season of their contract had finished, with only a month or two left on each deal of non-playing time. How hard is that to grasp? We were giving them an entire new 2 years of wages. If you want to carry on like a wally about what I said, perhaps have a closer read before responding.
And yes, that's exactly what the word essentially means. If I use it, it's because I mean something resembles something else but isn't precisely that other thing. It's why the word exists in the English language.

I see they're going for Chester too. If they're offering similar for both with the hopes of landing one, then we could be set for 7-8m for Maguire, but still not sure that's close to worth it when he's essentially our only other CB.
