Out of the 3 mentioned, none inspire me with confidence, but Martinez would probably shade it for me. However the way things look, Martinez is probably asking for too much money, so has now dropped out of favour, and Zola is likely to be appointed. Coleman I never felt would be interested.

He was bought for the top tier. Hopefully Newcastle don't do as well as he hoped and we turn it round. He may have tried to leave last season but with his injury problems it was too soon for people to be interested. Also, even he admitted he felt he could do much better than he did last season.

After sleeping on this I'm much less bothered about him leaving for precisely this reason. In addition it also solves a bit of a problem for us on where to play him? We can go back to a 4-4-2 now.

Completely agree. Diame is a great player on his day, but last season he was poor and seemed disinterested. We will need lads with some grit as well as ability this season

How many Premier League managers retained their jobs and did better than 11th? Did the other 10 - or fewer - have rubbish squads? Should we aim higher?

Think im more dissapointed in the fact its one less player in a thread bare squad than iam it's Diame thats going.
He is a good player and his great goal got us promoted but he's to hit and miss performance wise for me

I don't disagree with any of that. Though, I wouldn't say he's 'done well recently'.
 
I rate Mo highly but he frustrated the hell out of many supporters last season. On his day he was unstoppable and the player obviously oozes talent,fast forward another game and goes missing for some reason? Maybe that's why big Sam let him leave West Ham. Anyways, good luck Mo and thanks for that Wembley winner.

So the choice - if we have a choice - is between a manager who's done well with two Premier League clubs before falling from grace, a manager who has done well in the last couple of months and a bunch of managers who've done badly at most places they have managed. Oh, and somebody who has been an assistant a lot.

would i be harsh and say Gary Speed did a lot of the hardwork for Coleman? Either way Coleman hasn't done much previously to the Euro's but in reality in our position are we likely to get a decent proven manager? i dont think we are

I think that's my whole point. We'd be doing well to get Martinez especially given our present mess.

Even in the last game he went past 4 players or so and then hit a really tame shot. We do need people who are positive going forward though which he could be, but that could be as much about our tactics in recent times as anything else.

I think Martinez would be the best appointment.
