2-0. Whittaker completely at fault for giving his man acres of space, then arguably Tettey not close enough to the scorer on the penalty spot as the cut back came in.

Hannover No.9 left in acres of space on the penalty spot, I know this is only a friendly but so far it's fecking embarrassing

Have we mustered an attack yet, let alone a shot on goal?
Don't think so. Not sure we've strung 5 passes together yet either. Hannover attacking at will and carving out chances, mostly down their left.

I think what's hurting us most (other than Whittaker...) is the lack of any central midfield presence. Hannover are pressing well, but Tettey and Howson just haven't had time to put their foot on the ball and look for an intelligent forward pass. Naismith, Hoolahan and Jerome are peripheral, Jacob Murphy the pick of the front 4 so far, with a couple of neat touches.

Dorrans on for Howson I think? That's worrying.

Edit: Not Howson thankfully. Jacob's off. Not sure if it was tactical or through injury, but it's made a difference. Playing a little better now.

Problem is our defensive line is so out of sync with eachother we have no offside trap at all. Hannover just pick their passes.

Suicidal distribution from Ruddy there...
So far I think all he's done is pick the ball out of the net twice and lose possession.

Ruddy with a save, a catch and a throw to a player in yellow! Then Naismith blazes wastefully wide when Jerome was much better placed. Normal service resumes.

Whittaker now with a clever pass from his favoured central attacking midfield role, Naismith offside but still manages to miss the one-on-one.
