McQueen looking handy. Good to give him an opportunity... inexperienced players can look better with stronger players than trying to judge them amongst their peers.
Wondering if I was watching the same game? Sure it's pre-season, and early pre-season at that, but there was a distinct lack of pace, width, and cutting edge for me going forward. Different team 2H including Redmond, so maybe that'll make a difference. We still need more attacking talent that's first team ready before the window closes imho.
Sam Gallagher bagged the second with an old fashioned charge on the keeper Twente pulled one back 2-1
No, but there are certain attributes you can see even in friendlies. Not saying he's necessarily there yet, but he's got a lot about him, that's obvious.
The club regulate him every day and gave him a new contract only a few months ago, they are in a much better position to judge him as a player than we will ever be.. Let's just see how he gets on with a run of competitive matches under his belt.
Yeah, Morgan was playing in League One around about his age, i'm quite excited by Pierre as a prospect.
The camera angles make it really difficult to judge how well we are keeping our shape, and what shape we are actually playing. Really looking forward to having our proper defence in situ, because we are, IMO, looking extremely vulnerable to balls behind the full backs. Looks like the holding midfielder is really going to have to sit deep to allow Jose/VVD to spread wider to cut off those angled passes, when we concede possession with the full backs pushing so far forward.
That's why the Saints analyst was up on a crane....he was concerned about not seeing if we were keeping our shape.
Perhaps something to factor in for next year's pre-season. Games in proper stadiums with good camera angles. We'll need to be better prepared for the CL.
