Where I lived in Spain the curry and chinese food was poor. Need more of them bloody immigrant types.
Non-existent where I live. Probably better in the resort areas on the Costa del Sol and Costa Blanca. If we want a curry we have to make it ourselves.
Good now, mate. At least where I am. Our local Indian is actually owned an run by a Hindu couple who, although strict veggies themselves, cook delicious meat and chicken dishes. Everything cooked from fresh. Most of the Chinese is crap, as it is in most places in England too!...
I was in Castellon which was poor as **** at the time but a good laugh as a student. Very cheap but terribly high unemployment and even the best restaurants were rarely full. Now back in leafy middle-class Herts, I am blessed with a plethora of fatty delights.
Most of the Chinese here - northern Costa Blanca - are the cheap and 'cheerful' sort. It's all about price. Three courses + beer or glass of wine, €8-9!....there's one that's a tad more up market, but not much. We did have a fabulous pan far eastern restaurant that was mostly Malaysian, Indonesian cookery. Hugely popular place, and rightly so. But the son was half Swedish and wanted to move to Stockholm, so they went. Go figure!...
That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard (and bear in mind I've read a lot of kitchen pete's posts!!)
True story, I promise you. They do not eat meat themselves, but are happy to cook it and serve it to others....
