Things I've noticed since the we got into the PL : Dugout seats sponsored by Infinti - now Low Cost Vans Kit manufacturers Adidas - now Joma Strikers - now no strikers. That doesn't look like a club on the up really.
It's just that it seems the equivalent of jeans in my youth : the cool kids had Wrangler, the others had to deal with Cosmic Jeans from the market.
We have 5 weeks to get one in, throwing your toys out by calling people names is not going to change the situation
So sponsored by a local business and you are complaining, we change kit suppliers from time to time, personally I didn't like the adidas kit. And we still have strikers at the club.
I've not called anyone names - just stating that we have small minded people in control. We had 6 weeks to get a striker in, and before that we had 7 weeks. It seems that we don't have a clear target. If we know who we want why don't we get him in asap instead of wasting time ?
So calling someone small minded is not name calling, oh well we have different opinions on that. The club is hardly going to advertise who they are chasing, all you get is speculation in the press. I saw somewhere that the accuracy of press rumours are about 20% which is pitiful, and means it's guesswork
Bony scores a memorable goal at Old Trafford in the 4th round of the FA Cup to knock Manchester United out . Then watches Laudrup get sacked and watches Monk " Take a Dive " against Everton in the 5th round as if his effort at Old Trafford meant nothing ..Bony begins his desire to leave Imo Gomis is brought in because Bony and the club think he is on his way out .Bony isn't allowed to go and Gomis rides the bench . When Bony finally gets his wish to leave the next window , Gomis is carrying a grudge and plots his departure to the Mideast . Eder .......I'm to angry to talk about Eder , but he wanted out and who could blame him . Paloschi , who knows but I believe he talked to Guidolin to leave .
Huw Jenkins is looking more like the graveyard of ambition, by the minute, I actually think he is out of his depth here in the Premier league, he's got more wrong than right of late, that is a fact, and hindsight has bugger all to do with it, if he doesn't start getting his focus back, then his Yankee paymasters will dump him, without a second thought, they are here for the TV revenue, which is not available in the championship. ....
Hindsight has everything to do with it, you saying he got more wrong than right of late is exactly that, tell me how you are basing that? After the fact, which means you using hindsight for that! And the yanks are not here simply because of tv money, that pays to run the club and buy players. They are here for the commercial side of things, if it's done correctly that will surpass money earned through the TV. I'm sure you are aware how pitiful we've been on that side of things
Past performance is no guarantee of future performance, Huw was very good down the lower leagues, but currently he is costing us Millions, it cannot continue, of coarse the Yanks will focus on our inept commercial department, but they own the whole club, and it's not coincidence that they have come here just before we receive these higher new TV revenues this season. Huw had better get his act back on track, otherwise it will be curtains for him. It is staggering that after last season's relegation battle, that he procrastinates on the Striker front, he is seriously inept at the minute, I can only conclude he must be on Prozac, or something similar............. PS: Your reasoning on hindsight is flawed, all successful companies analyse past performance and sales, and look to see how they can improve, adapt and change. Only the Swans keep on doing the same stupid things, purchasing late in the transfer window again, looking for the same old failed cheap options, someone needs to tell Huw, we are in the Premier league, and Strikers that score do not come cheap, but then you'd think he would learn from Hindsight, with Gomis, Eder, Shec, Ngog, Vanq etc, etc! but watch him bring in another donkey..............
Well the delay was obviously because of the takeover of the club, the yanks have been in charge for 4 days, you surely don't expect massive movement within a few days? And like I said to Dai, it's not Jenkins making decisions it's the board, they are not going to spend millions on players without consultation. Hopefully now the yanks are here there is going to be less red tape for us buying players once identified as possibly compatible for the team. We shall see!
And who's fault was that? We were told all this share sale/takeover would be completed before last season finished? More excuses to cover over complete incompetence, still not sure why we could not have moved on our targets either, if indeed we did have targets, seems we make it up as we go along, small time charlies comes to mind............
JOE Allen's move to Stoke City has been described as a "disaster" for Swansea City by former Wales striker Dean Saunders. And Saunders revealed Sir Alex Ferguson is a big a fan of the midfielder, who shone at this summer's European Championships. "I was speaking to Sir Alex Ferguson and he said 'What about Joe Allen's performances in the Euros? What a player he is'," he told BBC Radio Wales Sport. "He never mentioned Aaron Ramsey or Gareth Bale. We have missed out, the Swans have missed out, we should have got him back. "It is a disaster for Swansea. Mark Hughes knows him but I am disappointed as a Swansea fan." Allen's former Swans team-mate Owain Tudur Jones added: "I am gutted for Swansea. They have missed a trick. "He's certainly a player that could have added to their squad for years. He would have been a player that they would have got in his prime. "Joe is a guy who could potentially have come in as a future captain." Link: http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...an-saunders/story-29551569-detail/story.html? Couldn't agree more, but what do you expect from 'Skinflint Jinx' I think Dai coined that phrase, how true!.............
Well it's obviously a complex thing taking over a business, and there is sure to be things that hinder the selling and buying of a large football club. But the approval didn't come through for weeks from the premier league, so that is one thing that wasn't expected. I'm not making excuses for them though as it could have been done better. And I thought it would have been obvious why we didn't move on to spending large sums of money, simply they couldn't as there has to be a point of where the business goes from one set of owners to another. The buy out had to be done first. What happens next though is down to the yanks, you know the ones who have been in charge 4 days.
I agree to an extent but are they 'in charge' or just bankrolling? Whatever the case this lot don't have any experience in the PL so won't be making the decisions on transfers in the sense of choosing the deals to be done, though would have to sanction them. Others already at the Club should already have targets and losing out to Stoke on Allen doesn't bode well. So I can understand the fans getting a little twitchy with deals being done right left and centre whilst we are doing....nothing. Still a bit of time but the Board need to pull some rabbits out of the hat and quickly. If we actually start losing players that's a huge worry.
