Lots of people that move out of the cities are accused of racism. The not on my doorstep, get me away
from it sort.A bit like all the old Londoners that have moved "away from it all"

What a weird comment, there's loads of Scousers and Brummies that live along the North Wales coast but I never heard them accused of racism because they live there. Wanting fresh air, countryside, better standard of living in their retirement maybe. But racism? Not heard that one before!

Eh? So you're suggesting that people move into the countryside to get away from 'the darkies'? <laugh>

Why?..... And what made you leave Lewisham?

It's a naive comment because (1) you make inaccurate assumptions about what is the 'real world' (2) You make a hopelessly uninformed comment about why people choose to live in rural areas.

I left lewisham to go to university

Well living in the sticks is hardly being amongst it.

You said that....... How can you comment on immigration when you don't live amongst immigrants?
Seriously?

So I can't pass judgement on people being openly racist, ignorant and bigoted because I no longer live in an area that's highly diverse?

That suggests that if I lived 'amongst them' then I'd have a different view, trust me, I wouldn't.

Exactly what most people in your position would say.

How can you comment about American politics when you don't live in America? Or how could I comment on the Syrian crisis when I don't live in Syria?

It's a hugely closed minded view of the world to think that all people living in the country are bigots who only moved there to get away from immigrants, and because of that they can't talk about immigration as it doesn't now affect them!

Ever thought that people move around for education, lifestyle, work, family reasons but can still have real life experiences about a whole host of things and can read up and educate themselves on matters to allow them to hold an informed opinion on things.

That people that live away from the big cities are usually the naive types....

I'm sorry but your comments are almost a caricature of what a sensible argument should be. I appreciate you are trying to be reasoned, and you are polite and we are discussing this reasonably.

But surely you can't believe that whites should only live with whites, and that all people living in the country are bigots or that people only move too the country to get away from immigrants?

As i've said on more than one occasion i can only speak from my own experiences.

So you're saying that people moved to your area for a variety of reasons but you can't accept that people move to other areas for a similar variety of reasons?

"a percentage that don't" ... what?
