Ok then thats fine.

Wijnaldum has played left side a lot. he does add a bit there

I agree that IMO left full back is very weak and in the CM duo theres no left foot player

I think Ninja and Coutinho are very similar when it comes to the left; can play there but what they are able to offer is vastly restricted as a result. Both are better at No.10.

If Flanno goes on loan it'll be the condition that he plays 75% of first team games

What does it matter that the CMs aren't left footed?

Xavi-Iniesta-Busquets, Pogba-Pirlo-Marchisio, Keane-Scholes, Mascherano-Alonso etc. The issue is less what foot they use and more the quality of the midfielders themselves.

It doesnt matter hugely but it does mean that they pass a certain way. A right footed pass to the left side is morevlikely to be square whereas a ball ro the right can bevmore positive.

Its the same as a right footed at lb. They almost always control the ball and end up playing backwards just due to body shape.

At the end of last season I knew that if we decided to take somebody in this position he was the one I wanted. Now I’m really happy with the options we have got at centre back,” he told Liverpoolfc.com.

“I’ve seen up close for three seasons how good his performances in Germany have been and last season we got chance to see him against us – and a lot in preparation – for our games against Augsburg.

“The last time he played against us at Dortmund they had 10 men and he defended really well to help them get a clean sheet and a win.

“He will bring us really good qualities with his defensive intelligence and ability on the ball and he is a left-footed player so will give us extra balance.

“I know that he is not only a very good player but the type of mentality and person who is coming here to fight and to win.

“He has had chances to move to some very big clubs but showed loyalty to Augsburg and now we’ve beaten some big teams for him to come here. I think he has made a great decision!”

Sounds like Klopp thinks he's more than back up!

it doesn't really make a difference though. Its like having a left footed striker vs a right footed one, in some situations one will benefit in other situations the other would benefit.

Having a full back who is stronger on the opposite foot to the side he is playing on is a little different though because of things like body shape, like you said. When playing in the centre of the pitch it doesn't hamper players much as they can go either way.

Especially as teams play with left footed player on right and visa versa, could actually help. Remember back to when Rafa played Arbeloa at LB to mark Messi so when Messi was cutting in on his left, he was onto arbeloa a stronger foot.

Inter being linked with balotelli... Prob lazy journalism just linking Mancini with him as he played for him under city.

Exactly. The only balance that matters is the players capabilities in certain positions. For example, if we had a world class player on the right wing but a conference player on the left, there would be zero balance.

IMO, Coutinho or Ninja on the left doesn't offer the standard we should be aiming for, same for LB and Moreno. Whereas Mane and Clyne on the other side offer a good PL standard.

One for the future or replacement for Moreno?
Never really noticed him for Villa.

LIVERPOOL NEAR AMAVI DEAL
Liverpool
are confident of sealing a deal for Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi, reports Le Parisien.
The France U21 international only moved to Villa Park last summer and is contracted to the Championship club until the end of June 2020.

He played for Villa last season, he's crap. End of.

Just found it on the Sky transfer page, never heard of him but knew you all want a LB so wondered if anything was known about him.

I'm in the same boat as you, never really noticed him. I can't say I'd have much confidence in buying anyone from that abysmal Villa side of last season though!

Mates a villa fan and he said he's a decent player, don't judge him on the rest of the villa squad. Quite young and decent going forward, puts in a good cross. Alright defensively but better going forward than defending.

He's a world class player mate, arguably the best in the world but definitely the best in England <ok>
