He can only work to the budget he's been given, he knows we need around 20 to 22 players so is having to look at Freebies ect but if he keeps us up this season it will be incredible, of course he will spend as well but in this league a couple of average players will wipe out his budget if it is the reported 18 million. Has for Odemwingie he relies on pace and used to be a decent player but if he is 35 ? pace. Lets hope he spends wisely with is hands tied behind is back because I know there is still three weeks to go but its not looking good, lets hope things change quickly.

Jesus wept, the amount of hissy fits on here is unreal.

It's so much easier when you don't give a **** how the season goes, like me.

Do you think? I stuck up for HRK last night. I think he could do a job for us...

But sooner or later we'll need to start looking at someone who can do a bit more than a 'job' for us and have some genuine top level quality.

Don't even know what to think about Odemwingie as I've not seen enough of him, but his age is off putting to me. Certainly knew where the net was though.

We need some names to get a bit more excited about... has everything on Mason gone quiet?

it will be very disappointing if we get £100m for reaching the PL and we only invest £18m of it.

I actually like Odemwingie!! Think he has more quality than all but Hernandez up front at the mo. If he still has his pace can be a real handful.
We need to be realistic and look at the signings as giving the manager different options.

Biggest problem for us is the budget doesn't sound big enough, already three long term injuries so he will have to strengthen in positions he was maybe not planning to do so, the ownership situation, fans p---sed off, I cant imagine the team getting backed by full crowds, going into a new season in the premier league, a poor atmosphere because of the Allams no wonder theirs some concerned fans on here, what a crap situation for a manager to have anyway if you are a wishy washy hissy type of fan what ever that is then best bet give it three weeks then have another look at the transfer thread and you never know things hopefully will be on the up, one lives in hope.

Surely Crouch is a no brainer, brilliant in the air, excellent hold up play and most of all is link up play is second to non?

We can't change anything, the budget is what the budget is. I'm underwhelmed most definitely, but............. and it's a massive but, if Bruce gets his tactics right and the team gels, then we can stay up. No one ever thought Leicester would be champions, even half way through the season. And we all know what Hansen said "you'll never win anything with kids". So anything is possible.

Plus we have a history of spending at least 2 seasons a time in the PL, so the stats are on our side. We just need to spend massive next year to make sure we stay up for a third season.

I think Ehab bought Steve Bruce a copy of FIFA11 and cunningly changed the 1 into a 7 and told him it is a pre-release copy. Brucie now cannot believe his luck, having an £18m budget whilst being offered top larkers in their prime like Odemingwie for free.

Odemwingie wouldn't be the worst bench option or sub striker. His goal scoring ratio is good. I would doubt he's going to get full games - he'll be someone to bring on for the last 15 mins to try and bag an equaliser <laugh><laugh>
