Yep, he is not suited to a team who have the lions share of possession, he needs to be a distance from the midfield and run onto things, a lot like Lukaku in that respect. If you have the opposition pinned back he will never find space or be affective unless you have wide men that can put the ball right on his head.
Look at LEdley who was back playing in Euro's matter of months after breaking his leg, as you say some are a lot worse if not clean. Just seems to me that abreak higher up near the knee would be a lot worse than in say middle of shin. Guess would be pins would have to go into the knee joint if it was high up?
Like they been saying about lack of quality strikers at Euro's. So many teams don't play with a big CF because teams can just sit back knowing they can't hurt them with movement etc, which is why a lot of other teams used an attacking midfielder who offers movement behind the defence etc. I think Lukaku has more to his game than Benteke, he has a bit more pace and can run behind the defence and link up play with his feet is probably a bit better, but I would say Benteke is a better finisher (going by his Villa days rather than with us).
Liverpool are closing in on a deal to sign Augsburg central defender Ragnar Klavan for a fee of £4.2m. Meanwhile, Liverpool are chasing Newcastle midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, 25, with Jurgen Klopp looking to negotiate a £20m deal. (Daily Telegraph)
If Lukaku bothered himself hed be good. I think he misses far too many chances on the ground and is really only lethal with the head. In short if everton want 60mil and get it id be amazed. I can see him do the same again this year great up to january, seeking a move as he wont be cup tied then fade.
The links to GW came out of nowhere - I hope he is the alternative for Zielinski and not Dahoud. Certainly adding more height and power to the team. The interesting thing is how Klopp intends to use him. Not sure he is suited to a midfield 2.
Spending loads isn't Klopp's way. This is the man who bought Caulker !! As you say he'll be looking to simply improve the areas where he's selling with better players for him, not big money or big name options, unless there are players who fall into those categories that are Klopp type players
We don't need to spend on superstar signings unless they reall improve the team. It's the right player that's needed not the highest profile player. So far so good I'd say.
Grujic, Mane and GW - 3 players that can run with the ball and take on players. Something we have lacked for a while.
I was talking about clean breaks. I realise there are more complicated breaks such as the one you highlighted.
Gonzalo Higuain should have been the right midfield player for us, but the price is not reasonable. We need a commanding midfield player. But if we buy a good player he can attain that level in two years. We do not have to pay over the odds for any player: we did that in the past and it did not work. Klopp love to develop players, "we dreamers but becoming believers".
Im sure he is not suited to the two in midfield so im wondering if its real. The issue being its rather convienent link righr after sissoko.
Grom what i saw the way his leg flopped about id bet on a compound fracture at least and could be a spiral too.
