Thanks Pelle, you were great for us and we were great for you. You were like our Rickie rebound. This is a good deal for all involved,...so long as we get in a striker to replace him. I would have been keen for a striker even if he had stayed for one last season.

Southampton Football Club can confirm striker Graziano Pellè has joined Chinese side Shandong Luneng for an undisclosed fee.

The 30 year-old moved to St Mary's from Dutch side Feyenoord in the summer of 2014, helping Saints achieve back-to-back record-breaking seasons in the Premier League.

Pellè made 81 appearances during two successful campaigns with the club, scoring 30 goals – including some spectacular strikes – and earning recognition at international level with Italy.

Everyone at Southampton Football Club would like to thank Graziano for his efforts during his time at St Mary’s and wish him well for the future.

He helped ease the pain of Rickie's departure. Ironic that his departure is similarly understood by the vast majority of fans. Thanks for all the goals Graziano and the best of luck in China.

That's a bit better than, "Ron's gone." :)

Loved by most I think!

Can't argue with that deal: £5m profit on a player who will be 31 soon, and has given us good memories over the last two seasons.

Good luck Graziano.

MELTDOWNNNN. TOTAL MELTDOWN.

Thanks for the memories, fantastic player for us but approaching the end of his shelf life what with the Irish Leprechaun firing so well last season. Smart move, no sour taste over this one, would expect to see a replacement and hope the board don't just sit with Austin (Still not sure about), Rodriguez (will he ever get back to that level) and Long.

Cracking deal for the saints, and cracking wages for pelle. Win win if we get PEH for same money and slightly less wages. We had the best years out of Grazzio and his value to any European or EPL club would have been far less.
