The Queen visits Musselburgh racecourse today and should we take the hint with her colt Elementary in the 2nd race. For some reason Bell has booked D O'Brien (3) for the ride and he also gets the leg up on her Forecaster in the following race.

Should have taken the hint for Culloden in the first!

Anyone else spotted the plunge on Column in the 2-40 Newmarket?

On the basis that someone will lose a lot of money if its misplaced faith, I have thrown a cheeky tenner at it!

Elsewhere my fancies are Indira, Nasimi, Wild Hacked, Mayfair Lady and Aristocratic. Good luck all <ok>

Well someone lost a lot more than I did. Never showed!

Ascot
5.50 Alcatraz 7-1

Things not gone right for this election but I think today may be the day, has run well all races and I am hoping the drying ground may help a little.

Damn that USHERETTE, was going nicely in the Placepot. Looks like paying around £2000 now. Will now watch what would have been my last selection BANKSEA place no doubt.

Oh well looks like no one was on the winner there in the Placepot. However some will be celebrating as I think a rewarding £4870 is in line.

Look Closer 8.10 Navan
Comes from a nice family with some big race winners. Finished sixth in a strong maiden last time which included The Gurka. The price is disappearing rapidly.

Shanpallas 7.55 Cork
This is a nice little race. McKinley can be a hard one to nail down. While Simenon is having his first run over hurdles in two years. There has been money for this one aswell and being one of JPs that could a tip.

Vivre Piur Vivre 4.45 Newmarket
I'll give this one another chance. I'm certain he has the ability to win something like this but he just needs to settle better and if he does he should place at least. He wasn't given a hard race last time when he was allowed to come home at his own pace having blown his chance in the first half of the race.
Look Closer and Vivre Pour Vivre are non runners. If only I was as good at picking winners as I am at picking non runners.<doh>

Congratulations to Steve Cummings on winning a hugely demanding Tour de France stage today <applause> Scouse power <ok>
