A bit like May's statement about more Trident, not really what most people are concerned about presently, both just smooching the Tory party nutters.

Beefy's right though, Leadsom is the dangerous one. She's paid (sorry her family have paid) almost £800,000 in donations to the Party and to fund her political career. She has bugger all experience (despite her claims) in business and finance, mostly seems to have held 'talking shop' posts or appointed as a stooge to award lots of directors pay at Barclays etc. Treasury ministers (who usually like a strident Tory in post) describe her as the worst minister ever, not able to grasp simple concepts. She is actively using tax avoidance measures herself through offshore companies.

    She's not quite right.

My dad says "coloured" instead of black. Nothing to do with racism it is just what people in this country of that age were told to say and not black. My Dad is not racist.

I know some people think that all these Tories are crackpots but there is no-one that is perfectly moderate and has no views at all that the modern "normal" seems to think we should all have. We aren't clones.

Tbf, as a young child I was told to say coloured after I stumbled over the question of white and black skins. I knew enough that it was a touchy subject. Tbh, the average person really ought not be bothered about white and black. We are just people. What we say to police if we're witnesses to a perpetrator of a crime, I don't really know anymore. The Police say white, black, etc.., I think. But categorising people by a colour is considered offensive. Nobody is allowed to be brown, yellow, or red anymore, so why should it OK for people to be categorised as white or black.? Because the people being categorised generally say it's OK. It's with agreement. It's also shorthand. I suppose we could say Caucasian, ******* etc... but they don't really apply as a official coverall because they're inaccurate. Besides, acceptable words are as political as the changing wind direction.

15-20 years ago you couldn't say Chairman or Postman, for example. It had to be Chairperson, or even Chair... Even the Postperson became Postie. Now they've crept back in under the radar. Strangely, during the same period, actors and actresses became actors. I think they've stayed that way. Who is to know what will be acceptable, just around the corner, given that the global village we live in changes its mind constantly. We think we're moving towards a better version of what is acceptable, with each change in the wind. But actually, it's more like to steps forward and one step back. Sometimes, it's the other way around.

And directly due to the Brexit result, the falling pound has put France ahead of Britain in sizes of economy. We are now the 6th largest economy in the world and shrinking. Yes, we often exchange places with France, but the previous last change looked like being pretty damn permanent. That didn't take into account our vote to ignore what all the experts told us.

Next we'll get Leadsom as PM and Trump as President. I am beginning to despair at the human race. Democracy don't you love it sometimes? :(

It's what happens when a significant proportion of the people get too comfortable. They take their eye off the ball.

IT could have been different and May should have immediately come out and said she would guarantee full residential rights for EU citizens already living in this country.

She should have take the positive route of saying this is what the UK stands for and challenge the EU to show they are the same.

Instead she thought playing a game of chance with people was the route to go. That is no way for any UK politician left right centre or whatever else to act. The UK is supposed to pride itself as being humanitarian and she comes out with that. Bad miscalculation.

Theresa May will make an excellent Prime Minister. She will build a strong Conservative Government to steer the country forward and away from the bureaucratic EU. Gove should be given a senior role in the new Government as his intellect and experience is a huge asset. The future looks bright for Britain, we have some excellent politicians taking this country forward.
