I didn't even know this as a rumor! They can't really have thought they had a chance?! Poor old Villa.

For an undisclosed fee, thought by the Guardian to be around £10m.Leicester set up Kante potential replacement.

£20M release clause I think. For an undisclosed fee, thought by the Guardian to be around £10m.
I wonder how much Kante will be sold for on the strength of last season's performances!
A shade more then £10m, I'll wager!

We should try him in the Championship he may come good .Well he was certainly bad!
Bah!
He would be more likely to be sold to claw back some of that £8m if he was playing and scoring rather than sitting on the bench in France .No!
Bah!

I felt a warm glow when I saw the headlines, thinking it might be Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson of Charlton, now their gallant Euros campaign has ended.

Silly me, it's just an out of contract gk. So, if successful, who's on the way out, Rudd or Ruddy? Neither of them, nor McGovern will be content with being third choice, I suspect?
Rudd failed to displace Ruddy despite the latter being in rotten form, I wouldn't blame him for moving on to start a career as a first choice 'keeper. McGovern coming in would/could put him and Ruddy on level standing, and make being first choice a genuine competition.
