Blair: We have diminished our place in the world please log in to view this image The World This Weekend Radio 4 programme Posted at13:18 Tony Blair says he's "completely sensitive" to the anxieties people feel about immigration, but he argues there are ways to deal with those fears that don't involve "ejecting ourselves" from the EU. "We're talking about breaking up four decades of economic integration... we have diminished our standing... we have diminished our place in the world and we'll have to fight to get it back." He questions why the country would do that without some "huge prize" on the other side - and he doubts that prize really exists, despite Leave's promises.
Blair will get hung out to dry by Corbyn on Wednesday, that's when the details of "The Iraq Inquiry" are released, Corbyn was vehemently against Britain being involved in the invasion because it was based on lies about WOMD and because of the innocent loss of lives that would follow. More pantomime in the UK parliament for the world to laugh at.
I'm intrigued why Goveadder and some of the other Brexiters saying that we need a Brexit PM - did he not sign a letter, along with Boris and 80-odd other MP's, asking for Cameron, a Remainer, to stay on as PM in the event of a Leave vote? Rather fatuous argument if he's not prepared to sign the divorce papers on Article 50 straight away if he were to become PM.
Well having seen Gove on the Andrew Marr show this morning his reply would go along the lines of "Andrew at the time i believed it was best for the country , and i must emphasise that has always been my guiding principle , however once i examined my conscience following my good friend Davids resignation i realised that any new candidate would have to be in favour of Brexit as otherwise the EU won't take our negotiations seriously." he was a complete slimy twat though to be honest he wasn't hiding it very well , much as he thought he was
Obscure just promised to slash corporation tax to 15%. Previous he was on about 17% Clearly they must be seeing things we are not yet and trying to stimulate once more. There's a phoney war going on for sure. Gove backstabbing Johnson floundering May picking up pieces. Where is osbourne in it all... he was not in Boris camp for sure. He was out if Gove or Boris got it.... can osbourne make promises???
Osbourne is rumoured to have been negotiating with Gove. PS hardly news but he has been a useless chancellor a fact somewhat hidden by some apparently good economic figures particularly employment levels. The fact that those figures mask the fact that our productivity is still well below level required as is our R&D . that is one of the main reasons for both our budget deficit and our trade deficit remaining basically unchanged after years of austerity.
So Scotland should let English people decide their future despite Scottish people voting the opposite way? That's absolutely ridiculous.
No, they should let British people decide their future because they very recently voted to be a part of Britain
The same as allowing the French and Germans to vote in our referendum then saying that the majority have voted Remain, so get used to it.
And a major plank of the IN campaign was that Sctland would be forced to leave the EU if it left the UK.
