By the way, Stags are notorious for breaking down. You'll have to pay a fortune for one that has been properly looked after. Go for a TR6, instead.

You mean the TR6 with the same drivetrain that's in the Stag, and made in the same factory, that TR6?
Oh dear ... The Stag, The Stig and The Stooge ... I may just sell that title to Quentin Tarantino ...
No probs ... I've also checked with the seller and apparently they are guaranteed to fool scousers ... apparently they'll jog up with a screwy to prize the hubs off ... pull up in confused amazement at the apparent "alloys" .. stagger back a few paces before walking dejectedly round to the boot ... visibly mouth M-O-N-D-E-O ... before fist pumping, grinning and skipping back round to the wheels ... then the whole cycle begins again ... hours of fun ...
I'm not an expert on Triumps, mate. All I know is that the Stag was notorious for breaking down. What it was that kept breaking down on them, I don't know. The TR6 never had that reputation. You'll pay roughly the same for either car, these days, in good nick. All I'm saying is, go for the TR6.
The Stag did have a horrendous reputation for reliability tbh, so you're right there. I don't know enough about the TR6 in comparison to have a view tbf. I had a Spitfire when I was a teenager, mint it was, hard and soft top, overdrive, in dogs cock red. Like an idiot I sold it when skint.
I did like the Spitfire. Ended up going for an MGB Roadster, though. I have the customised V8 version sitting on my front drive, waiting to be overhauled. It'll need a good five grand spending on it to get it back up to showroom condition, but it'll be so worth it.
I had a Caterham Super 7 when I was 20. I blew it up on the the A21 and just left it there. Beautiful it was - racing green and chrome. True story.
