Interesting that they said it was the first time they have done it all on site...so no trip to the Solent University.

 

And all the test and analysis equipment and staff is now in-house. So they've invested in that too.

 

Snapchat have just shown Cucu, Virgil, Maya and Dusan are back for pre season.

 

I must admit I am slightly worried about Austin and Rodriguez. No concern with their abilities (assuming injuries haven't changed that) but I am worried about havingredients two extremely injury prone players in the same/similar position. Say we do get rid of Pelle and replace him with another striker. You'd think 4 strikers is more than enough, especially if we use a system with just one. But with those two so at risk of injury it may turn out not to be enough. Not sure it was wise to buy Austin when we already have doubts over Jay, although for £4m I can see why it wasnt such a risk.

 

I agree with the concerns, however just one small point. Jay rod has hardly played for Saints as a down the middle striker, more of a wide player cutting in. I think we need another striker as we sit today.

 

I guess it depends on how Puel views him. He has been a striker his entire career until Pochettino played him out wide, very successfully in fairness. Puel may prefer him through the middle. But yeah, I would like another striker to be safe.
