Mark Warburton continues to attract the interest in Spurs supporters towards his sides.
Not one of ours on loan this time, but a former fan favourite instead.
Niko Kranjcar might not have made the Euros with Croatia, but he's joined Rangers on a two-year deal.

It'll be interesting to see whether he can still do the business, even though he's only 31, so he should be able to.
His last few moves haven't really worked out, but he's the sort of player that Warburton gets the best out of.
An on-form Kranjcar would be a real weapon in that division.

Damien Comolli's running around saying he would've signed Payet for just €4m back in 2008, but he was sacked before he could make it happen.

What both the Standard and (unsurprisingly...) the Express neglect top mention is the fact that Comolli was sacked on October 25th 2008 - meaning that he must have been pretty **** at his job if he was trying to sign somebody two months after the transfer window had shut.

"In light of recent events, HTM products has ceased all sponsorship arrangements with Chesterfield football club."
Who could've seen that coming? Oh, everyone did actually, didn't they? Never mind.

We all could, although it's still disturbing that public opinion is such that companies feel they have to make decisions to appease those who like to feel morally indignant.

I agree, Luke. The poor bloke had his conviction overturned - very rare, apparently - and now just wants get on with his life in the only 'trade' he knows. But, of course, the witchunters will hound him wherever he goes.

    And the dismantling project continues...

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36636488

Decent signing for them, although the fee is a bit excessive for a player who does tend to go missing from time to time - bit like Sturridge in that respect.
Bit of a strange one though as I'd have thought the positions in dire need of strengthening are all at the back - they need a new GK,CB and LB. You have to feel for Soton though...there's only so far the lyrics of 'Tubthumping' can carry your morale.

Another player they have set the "kill switch" to "on" before shipping on to the Poool. :)
Thank God the actual club doesn't hate Spurs as much as their fans do.

I love that when Liverpool buy from Southampton they have to pay at least double everyone else.

And the irony is that the players turn out to be half the players they were at Southampton

We've already signed Matip (CB) and Karius (GK). I think we'll sign another CB as Skrtel looks likely to leave, I'd like to sign Hector as well as we've been linked to him quite a bit and he's looked solid for Germany, Moreno is also gash so it's definitely a position that needs strengthening, preferably this transfer window.

We also lack a lot of pace down the wing, Ibe is only our only player that can really run and get at players, everyone else is either too slow or just doesn't have the skill to take players on. This signing makes sense, the price is questionable but Liverpool don't to cheap so it's to be expected <laugh>

A lot of the Soton fans wanted £40m + at a minimum

£36m for Mane is probably around double what I would have said would be a fair price, a decent player but no world beater. This makes me wonder how much we could demand for Chadli, who whilst inferior to Mane, can play a similar position, is a similar age and has a similar goal return. Pool don`t half love to splash the cash though, as they try to keep up with the United`s.

Problem is, unless he's a Southampton player and L'pool want him, you won't get the price....

Mugged. I'd rather pay £11mill for Victor Wanyama and play him on the wing.

    They are similar.
