**** off, this has to be a joke? Why would Ashley release a player he can sell? It'd cost him a fortune to release him.

Joeys last tweet of 'I will be making an announcement regarding my future, on here at 4pm today........' is what scares me. The next 30 minutes better hurry the **** up.
 
Whilst Joey may have brought this on himself with recent action, to terminate his contract would be a stupid decision by the board. I bet there would be numerous clubs in the queue to pay £3-4 million for him.

it hasn't even been announced yet bar this total **** nut lee ryder calm down and wait to see what the craic is,if it's true i'll be as pissed off as you but at the minute it's nothing more than speculation
 
Is this acctually confirmed anywhere yet or just more internet talk? Either way not fussed, been a good player for us but as i say time and time again he needs to shut the **** up!
 
Dont understand this from the board's view. We could get 5m easily for him but instead we're going to pay him off for a year, at a rough cost of 3m?
 
If it's true, then it's clear that Mike Ashley is a psycho. He's a mental case who lets his own personal feelings take MASSIVE priority over any credible business decision. Letting one of our best midfielders and hardest working players leave for nothing, along with the problems surrounding Carroll, Nolan and Enrique, is frankly beyond words.

Although, Joey never helped his cause, and he's partly to blame. If he had just kept his mouth shut and TRIED to build a better relationship with the board, there would be absolutely no issue here.
 
If Pardew stuck up for Barton the first few times he went off on one on Twitter, and Barton just kept at it then there was only two ways this was going to work out .. with Barton taking the consequences or Pardew .. his position became untenable due to his inability to keep quiet. If you read his messages they are all aimed at the pleasing the fans, stating how much he loves NUFC and wants to stay .. yet laced with cynicism and designed to provoke .. Bartons a clever chap, knew exactly what he was doing .. like a naughty school kid seeing how far he could push the teacher .. well he's pushed far enough if this is true ..

Be interesting to see what comes out of the club officially on this one .. I would expect it will be fairly succinct as usual.

This isn't what the fans or the team needs going into the new season! Joey is open to us fans and i fully appreciate that, he says how it is and doesn't give a **** what anyone else thinks, alot like me, but i wouldn't slag off my boss because that would get me sacked. I'm going to be extremely pissed off if this does indeed happen, he's got that true 'English Grit', he gets stuck in when the rest of the team can't be arsed to, he's one of our best players and to see him go will be truely gutting.

Skysports News has just said NUFC has told them Joey has been placed on the transfer list and is available for a free!! WTF!
