Read that we've rejected an £8M bid for him from you lot, how much do you think he's worth? Do you think there will be another bid? Personally I'd keep him but I think he'll be a player used in certain games or off the bench and I imagine he wants to play and we have to respect that.
I think we're going to come in again and might get him somewhere between £10-12m subject to no other bids from other clubs. I think he's proving for Wales at the Euros that over the last 18 months he's developed into a quality player and, wherever he goes, he's going to want to play week-in, week-out. Heard that Sevilla are also interested in him. If so, that could be a real tempting offer - but we (or any other interested mid-table British club) will be more likely to guarantee first team football. I get the feeling he won't be interested in Celtic at all.
Celtic would be a terrible move. Sevilla would be interesting I think you lot should come in with an improved offer quite quickly.
All have some pros and cons to be fair. Sevilla offer Champions League football, a chance to play in a new country/league against some top sides, but not necessarily first-team football. Celtic offer Champions League football, first-team football, but a terrible standard of domestic football on a weekly basis. Swansea offer first-team football in the PL, a return to familiar surroundings/home, but not the top-level European football of the other interested parties. I'd like him home. I've been calling it all of last season and even a last few months of the season before. I've been watching his career at Liverpool extremely closely, to the point where, last season, if he was playing for Liverpool or on the bench, I watched the game (as long as it didn't clash with the Swans). He's been a very consistent performer who perhaps is a little unlucky to have some quality goal-scoring midfielders competing with him in the Liverpool squad. I think he's a better all-round CM than Can and Henderson, but because they have a little more edge about them around the box, he's often found on the bench. But I've found Liverpool to be a much more balanced unit when Allen plays - and it's something I've missed about the Swans game since he left. Britton is aging, Cork has come in and done a good job last year, and Fer filled the gap on loan at the end of last season, but I think slotting Allen in alongside Cork with Gylfi ahead of them would be a top-10 central midfield every season. If I were holding the purse strings at Swansea, he'd already be purchased. I wonder if the Swansea takeover along with Allen still being in the Euros is slowing down any potential deal right now.
He's better than Henderson, Milner and Lucas at the moment and on form better than Can but I'd say Can edges it overall. I'd like us to get a top DM in and then play Allen and Can going box to box.
10m - 12m is a fair price. But Huw's acting a knob and thinks he can get a margin. Just pay the bloody going rate you tight arse!!
Huw Jenkins has pitched in at £8 million knowing that Liverpool want £10 mill, but I suspect we will settle the deal at £9 million, though I doubt Sevilla would go to £10 million..........
Why risk losing him just for the sake of £2 million? It's this small time mentality that got us in a mess last season when we didn't replace Bony.
I know just saying how skinflint Huw works, and I heard Joe wants to come back home, so that gives us the advanage, which Huw will milk.........
I think 12 would be the minimum, going to be plenty of interest Southampton and Mane is going to be an option. I'd come in big if you really want him.
It's common knowledge that Joe and his family haven't settled in Liverpool and would very much like to return home. Irrespective whether larger bids are submitted for him or not, with one year left on his contract it will be a simple case of Joe will go where Joe wants too.
i would go what it takes to get him here....It's not only the transfer fee ( that i would go as far as £15m) it will be what sort of contract we can give him....
Joe when back in Swansea, often pops into the King Arthur, and what I have been told is exactly what you have stated here.............
Dream on, Joe wants out of Liverpool, and he also wants to come home to Swansea, so your in dreamland with £12 Million.............
