Don't worry yourself about that 2nd referendum, there is absolutely no chance of that happening. The signature count in that petition by the way was 1.7m earlier and it was signed inside of the U.K. Just 350,000 times. It'll be lucky if it even gets discussed in parliament for those reasons, but, if it does then it'll be thrown out immediately. The fact for me is, I'm happier for elder generations who have so much life and job experience to be deciding the fate of this nation, rather than a bunch of youths who, well, don't. The irony of course, is that old folk are constantly saying the youth of today don't take anything seriously!

Well said. I'm honestly being made to feel like a racist, xenophobic, uneducated pig by people who I've spent my life growing up with and eating dinner with as a family. It's incredible how many people needed shocking into caring about this country, now it's too late. We were told from at least January that it was going to be on a knife edge... Deal with it. I really wanted to move on quickly and quietly regardless of the outcome.
The GBP is plummeting They'll get it too imo given the overwhelming votes to remain, then the North East will be ****ed as the Tories will gain a permanent grip and will be unrivaled. No more European Regional Development funding, Tories will continue to invest in the south as always do and we'll be up against a closed boarder. Going to be grim as **** up north. Dreading it.
Re the petition (as Tel says will never happen) --''We the undersigned call upon HM Government to implement a rule that if the remain or leave vote is less than 60% based a turnout less than 75% there should be another referendum'' In the weeks leading up to the referendum, some thought that Remain would win, although only just. I suppose these petitioners, in their confidence of success, didn't want to petition then for this ruling ,just in case their expected victory was by a small margin. If we lose next years cup final 1-2, I shall start a petition to the FA that it should be replayed if one team only just gets beat.
If we are racists for voting out of the eu, then, by definition 45% of scots are racist for voting to leave the uk. They can`t have it both ways.
I voted in but accept that the majority of people want out for whatever reason. I just don't know what these "moaning minnies" are worried about. It will be a wizard wheeze trust me
Time to buckle up and enjoy (or not) the ride. We've had our 24-48 hours of every man and their dog becoming politicians and economists, it's time to pull together and work towards sorting what's best for us out. We could look back at this event in 10 years as the worst thing we've ever done, or the complete opposite and look back and say it's the best thing. Time will tell. For what it's worth, I voted to remain.

Raw, Perhaps it's time for all those Labour voters who were told by Corbin to vote Remain and didn't to show some more individuality and vote for themselves and not have the attitude that my Grandad and my Dad always voted Labour so I will too. The whole Parliamental system in this country needs a complete overhaul, and maybe this is the time people used their voting powers to change things once and for all. I saw two blokes interviewed on Tele last night saying they voted on Thursday but hadn't voted before or will vote again in a general election cause it's a waste of time. Those are the voters who need to get off their arses and do something about it and not stand in the corner whingeing. I voted in but accept our lot as it is now, there are interesting times ahead.
Labour has never had such a left leaning leader in their history which has attracted new members from many other far left parties which have virtually disappeared since Corbyn became leader. This is at odds with a lot of natural labour voters who do not like going to the extremes. At the same time we have an increasingly right wing Tory party that are even contemplating electing the ultra right wing nutter Boris Johnson as leader. This for me is leaving a vacuum open for a centre left party to be formed in order to mop up the majority of potential voters who do not like the extreme political views that are rearing their ugly heads at present.
