Er, we already have those, we have to show passports when entering the UK, with the exception of the Irish/northern irish border which is subject to separate laws (Home Rule, Good Friday Agreement).

Okay. You must be right. Boris threw the dice and lost. He always knew that the best way to replace Cameron was to campaign against him, then lose that campaign. All of this would impress the rank and file of the Conservative Party. Have you got any more amusing theories?

Booze was a lot dearer in Holland and Germany than it was here in those days.our prices have gone up far more than theirs meaning prices are now similar. Though they have longer opening hours, waiter service and, in my opinion, many more pleasant, small bars. Only the duty free was cheap,,which is why there were such restrictions on it.
Of course you needed ID which we never thought about as you had to show your passport when registering so we didn't notice that requirement. Some people get in a lather about ID cards but it didn't impinge on freedoms in ?Europe. It would be useful when people are trying to hide their identities or access benefits and health services they are not entitled to. Which is of course why a lot of the people who are against them take that stance.

It does explain why Labour gets elected in those places. And Hull.

Boris has shown absolutely no leadership since the result was announced - neither he nor Gove looked particularly happy at their press conference (compare to Nigel's demeanour) and all he's said regarding the plan for Brexit is "lets not be too hasty now". That to me is a man who was not entirely convinced of the position he took.

The man is a multi ID ****.
One minute he's true blue Brit, the next he's the descendant of Turks.....what card he plays depends on who his audience is.
The only constant thing about him is his politics: pro Boris Johnson.

Not sure how you jumped to the conclusion about how I vote.

Had you caveated your statement with a reference to the mainstream candidates I'd agree with you, although I would certainly not advocate you to be a good judge of who is allowed to vote or be worthy of the vote, however the ballot paper can and will hold a lengthy list of candidates of which most voters will never of heard of due to the obscurity of the candidate and their manifesto.

You may of course be lucky enough to reside in a constituency where only two candidates stand in which case I forgive you for being a know nowt plonker.

Good luck with running a system and providing housing, education, health services with no state. Who collects the taxes to provide these things? What if someone doesn't want to contribute in any way, financially or any other way?
Are you as dim as you seem? You should have been around in the sixties with all those other idiots who thought they could change the world by sitting around singing, strumming guitars and taking dope whilst spouting utter bollocks.

I didn't like to mention it myself.

Or a man with a political future, who understands there are challenges and opportunities. There were a few on this thread who threw the last minute dice - a few of them seem to have developed long term reasoning. It's really quite amusing.

I can understand how someone with your limited understanding must so desperately feel the need for an authority figure to govern every aspect of your life.

Is your minder on a day off?

I didn't offer any thoughts on how you voted. I am not offering any thoughts on who is worthy of a vote. Test is something that a lot of those who regard themselves as superior and can't accept that people didn't vote the way their betters thought that they should have.
There are always a large number of candidates in my area. I can always remember who I voted for and who won, which aren't always the same. Something which seems beyond some know nowt plonkers on here.

I don't think any of us in the real world took any notice of those going to San Franscisco with flowers in their hair or others of that ilk, we had too much to deal with at ground level, y'know mortgages, even jobs, to worry about. As ever it was the pop culture who were mainly the protagonists of that movement, Lennon's bed in and the such in fact even though I wore hipsters and coloured shirts, and a with kipper ties, I still worked and paid my way even if I had a Kevin Keegan perm :)

Great, it's reassuring to know that all visa-holders are counted out, there are no snide pazzys and no one gets smuggled in through lorries!

Phew ! Whatever was all that fuss about?

You aspire to having a limited understanding of things.

Maybe not doing anything whilst relying on others to look after you is your thing.
