I am not sure that those polls for age demographics are any more accurate than the polls for the result. I daresay more youngsters voted in but that middle section 25 up to 49 covers most of my friends and they are 9-1 on the leave side. professionals, manuals and 3 with degrees. The 1 (or rather 2 because my mate group is pretty big) are both teachers. We are all in the 30 - 42 age group. On the flipside My Mum and Dad born in 48 and 52 said they were probably going to vote remain. They said they voted that way before and they haven't done too bad out of it. They would say that though because they are both retired with juicy government pensions from 40 year's service. I don't think there is as big a gap in the ages. It is more to do with education/intelligence/ability from what I have been gathering. The people in slightly better jobs where they have a little spare money are remainers, those who have to choose what to spend on are outers. Maybe it is a North South thing seeing as my Dad is from Winchester and Mum from Romford. Have they released any detailed info on age ranges that actually voted yet rather than based on polling? Is that available?

Last word on David Cameron. When he became Tory leader he had a chance to cleanse the party of its eurosceptics. Instead he chose to accommodate them, thinking he could keep them sweet by taking the Tories into an alliance with Conservative groups from Poland. Still the eurosceptics were not satisfied, and upped the anti so he gave them exactly what they wanted and now he is paying a heavy price for being too weak with them. As for guys like John Redwood, he and his ilk should have quit the Tory Party as they are really UKIP is disguise. Thanks Redwood et al for ruining what was once a very pro-European party. Now get the hell out of it!!
Good comment. Your irony almost passed me by on a day like today. Of course those of us who voted remain are completely ignorant of such worldly affairs, after all to believe in cooperation with others of different cultures and outlook, and to work hard at relationships, even when they do not go to plan, are useless ideals, not suitable for the modern progressive world which we are about to join!
And now. guess what UKIP will be the challenger for the next election, because to re-use a recent quote from a Tory MP, the Tories will be toast after the next election and its any ones guess the mix of the next government.

Should have agreed on a plan, THEN withdrawn. But people voted to withdraw for different reasons, and there's going to be a massive fight over the direction of the country. Hard to convince the rest of the world that Britain can stand on its own without the EU when the domestic politics make it look you don't have a clue what your next steps are.
The outcome of the US election is going to have a much bigger impact on the UK than the Spanish election.

Some people have such a sense of righteousness...usually those on the left....they can never understand that people can feel differently from themselves and have every right to. As a Tory, I recognise that others are socialist, but the far left think that anyone who votes Conservative is equivalent to a *****phile. As this article says, great to talk to like-minded people....we all do that....but remember others are different. After Brexit (it could take years) there will be some good things and some bad things....people who care about the country will pull together and sort this out. Well I have to say I am really looking forward to all the extra money that is going to be sploshing around because of all the savings we are going to make. The NHS will think it's Christmas come early! I am particularly looking forward to holding all those leading the Leave campaign to account for the promises they have made. I doubt I will have much opportunity, however, because they will scapegoat everyone else before accepting responsibility. Outrageous how the old have sold out the young. There is only one positive in this result - there is now no need for UKIP and all it's divisive mantra. My kids are fuming because they have 70 years to suffer the consequences whereas those who voted for leaving (in the majority) only have 16 years. One thing that I will be campaigning for as the economy collapses is means tested benefits for all pensioners, so that my children will not be funding the well off as they struggle to survive financially.
I don't think it's going to happen, but if Trump wins I don't want to hear a single word of complaint from anyone in Britain. You just did something even more boneheaded than electing Trump, based upon similar thinking as Trump voters. And in doing so, you increased the likelihood of a Trump win.
