Its obviously a sham referendum to appease the increasingly xenophobic British population. There is no way any government in their right minds would put such a crucial decision in the hands of the (generally) poorly informed poorly educated British public.

I strongly object to people sneering at the common man (and woman of course). And what is information...there are arguments for both sides and in a democracy we allow people the right to decide and also to be wrong. I hate the idea of the so-called intelligentsia that those who have different opinions from them and who can't formulate coherent arguments in a debating situation are unworthy of an opinion. I am constantly amazed that people who profess to be standing up for ordinary working class people despise them so much. The average British person is honest, fair, hard-working and aspirational for their children....I know because I am surrounded by them. That is why I said if the decision is to stay (even though I would rather leave) I will accept it.

It's a no brainer for me.

I detest the European Union's FIFA-like mentality, but running away and hiding isn't the answer. We must stand together, unite and continue to help those in need.
For morality, economy, stability and decency I will vote to remain.

I on the other hand voted leave, for morality economy, stability and decency.

George Osborne has more than a big finger in the pie. HE was on the board that approved that £80m loan to Ford Turkey knowing full well what the likely consequence was.

The reality of what is happening within the EU is that the EU loan money to the countries that want to join helping them to get closer to ticking off the requirements.

So George while on the board approved a loan that would help Turkey get closer to EU qualification. A loan that would lose jobs in Britain. There are vast numbers of these types of loans to companies that are outside of the EU to take work from countries within the EU.

By the way, EU talks on Turkey's accession plan start again on 30th June. Obviously making plans for the year 3000

Someone at my work used to work for the Ford factory that was shut down, the plant over here was tanking money and the operation was so poor over that people took it in turns to go and sleep in a small cupboard through their shifts - not because they were tired but bored. The Turkish plant is very profitable and the money is being used to expand the operation.

Not to mention Ford is not a British company, so why do people think we would have the power to prevent moves such as this if we were to leave?

Also worth noting that the land used for the Ford factory is really sought after and could easily create 1000+ new jobs if it goes to the right people.

But why if we are this great block united together is our C of E agreeing to loans to take jobs outside of the EU? Why did the EU not loan the money to Lithuania or Latvia? Places that need jobs? Places that are losing their talent to richer countries because they have no jobs? Why do these loans go to non EU countries taking the jobs out of Europe?

Sadly, this about echoes my feelings on the current state of affairs. But a vote to leave the EU, in my opinion, won't sort out the fundamental issue of the elite's robbing us all blind and laughing their way to the bank.
As DTLW said about the immigration issue, I feel like people are targeting the symptoms and not the cause when they vote to leave. If we stay in, I have hope that we can still make a difference.

Remain for me as I value the importance of being able to cross any border within the EU without any hassle. I hope at some stage in the future we will join the euro once things settle down. As it is we are ripped off to exchange sterling to euro and vice versa. That should cease immediately
