Brown seems really nasty. That's not the right way to treat a player who played a big part in getting us promotion.

Fantastic insight into what went wrong at City during the Duffen/Brown era from someone at the centre of things. Wayne Brown was excellent for us in the promotion season and , yes , he was awful against Wigan but to be given the cold shoulder , made to train with the youth team and then told he would never play for City again was disgraceful. Bear in mind he had been pretty much first choice up until this point and , ok , perhaps he wasn't premier league class but he deserved better. From a managing people point of view it is a stupid way to go about things because not only do you alienate the player himself but the others would not have liked the way a mate and colleague has been treated. City went on their great run from there on but its when the going gets tough that the manager needs all the players 100% behind him and thats why things turned after Boxing day!!

Nice read, do you think maybe he holds a little bit of resentment against Phil Brown?! Good to see he doesn't hold it against the club as a whole though

Also, reading on the page about chants, i like that 3rd response to the 'Hull is a ****hole' chant. 'Blitzed every day' should be the standard response! Shame it could only be used at home games so it'll be harder to get going (i sit in E5 so not much chance there).

Decent write up on the Central Midfield as well, was that you or did you just get to go down the pub with Browny? <cheers>

All my contributions to the magazine are purely pub related. <ok>

thats a top read OLM cheers, interesting to hear about the rise and fall of brownie from a players perspective. And come to think of it there is a small dilemma occurring regarding CM's and I'd say the squad as a whole is lacking a bit of depth besides forwards. The starting XI imo can pretty much match every team in the league but as soon as these players get fatigued over the duration of a season, or when injuries and suspensions are inevitably picked up that will be when we begin to struggle. Sign up Wayne?

Wayne Brown is not up to Championship football anymore but I'm surprised a League 1/2 team isn't in 4 him

Interesting that he says Adebola is quicker than you think, maybe thats because Browns so slow himself though? He did great for us promotion season and was pretty shabbily treated by Brown, interesting that the supporters of Brownie on here seem to have a blind-eye turned to his lack of man-management skills. You should have asked him about his political affiliations that would have made interesting reading.

I did think about it, but I thought I should stick to football. Having played for Brownie, then Pearson, then Brownie again, I thought he was ideally placed to give us an insight into how things were, so I made that my main topic of conversation. At the end of the day, I'm just talking to players I already know, I'm trying to keep things interesting, but I'm unlikely to uncover the next Watergate.

For the record, I have spoken to him about it previously and he's not racist at all, he's just concerned that immigration has got out of hand and there's ghetto areas developing in many major British cities. Having paid over the odds for a flat in one of those ghetto's, I can see where he's coming from.

    I usually do <laugh>

All the interviews I've done for Kisser have been with players I already knew, usually over lunch and normally take 1 1/2 to 2 hours and as I already knew them, it was slightly odd interviewing them. I'm no journalist, but I'm just about getting the hang of it now, I'm hoping Deano's going to do the next one, which could be interesting following on from Wayne's thoughts.
