Every tournament I put Ronaldo in my dream team because you be stupid to leave him out in theory, and every tournament he does **** all!!

It's stupid to even consider putting him him. Firstly he's the most expensive player and secondly because everyone else has him. I have Morata and Lukaku in mine (put Lukaku in today :) )

Dan Walker interviewing Tierry Henry pitchside and making him look like a dwarf. Either Walker is bloody tall or standing on a box, or Henry is shorter than I thought or was sitting down, or standing in a hole. Either way, it looked odd. :)

Ronaldo tried to bury himself in that hole after the game

Dan Walker is very tall

I was thinking the same. In fact, all the ultra-revered players seem to let themselves down these days, while the guys just under the very top often have great tournaments. Messi did sod all in the last World Cup, even though FIFA made him best player [how arranged was that.?], yet several other players had a great time. C. Ronaldo has done sod all in this tournament [so far], yet Payet, arguably Rooney, and a couple of others are having great moments.

Donkey's years ago, the likes of Pele, Garrincha, [actually easier to name Brazlians who aren't revered from that era, so I won't bother to continue] Muller, Maradona, Rossi, Platini, Ronaldo, Zidane, maybe even Lineker: they all shone and played to the best of their reputations. But both Messi and Ronaldo have failed to really show us what they are capable of.

Maybe it's what we said earlier - that the lesser teams, and therefore lesser players, have got much better over the years, such that these best guys don't quite manage to stand out. Which makes Gareth Bale's little sparks of genius all the more impressive perhaps. I don't know. Just fishing for an answer really.

EDIT: Zlatan is another. Done nothing.

If you don't put him in and everyone else does and he goes on to score 4 goals like he should really of done this year looking at the group, you then look a total prick.

Are dream league is being won by a girl at work he has no real football all knowledge and her whole team is full of Italians from her GK and defence and she also put in morata, hamsik and perisic and a few others who have scored well. While all the lads have done the sensible thing and gone German etc, but she's just totally owned us!!

Mmm I'm not sure Bale has actually had any sparks of genius really. We can't take away his two goals, but even most of us can chip a ball over a wall. We then have to hope the keepers do their bit like the two so far.

He's knuckle balled those free-kicks. They've dipped, which is what has caught the keepers out primarily, I would suggest. I'm not saying he's played well, but greatest players always do something. Or they always used to.

We'll have to disagree on the free kicks. The first one in particular wasn't anything at all. Keeper made a pigs ear of it. I Can't deny he's done something as the history books say two goals.

Fair enough, but you can tell from the connection that he makes on the ball, in both instances, that they are going to dip prematurely, given the pace they are travelling at. Most footballers can't seem to do those. VVD can incidentally.
