    Yup I 100% agree.

Just because someone wasn't good a one club does not necessarily mean they'll be the same at your club or another one, equally of course if they were great at your club it doesn't mean they'll be great at the next. There are so many variables with backroom staff, owners and board members, trainers, how and what players are scouted and purchased and of course the squad of existing players too and many, many more.

Yet every season millions of football fans fall into the same trap and start saying so-and-so isn't good enough for their club.

Annoyingly enough recent Saints departures don't really seem to have done so badly, that's why I reckon the Pound-Meister will be a success at Everton just to really pee us off.

But it looks like the superbly well run club have already got a replacement ...

Blimey, do they realise it is Saints they are writing about? :emoticon-0100-smile

I'm not a big risk taker but I've just spread bet a tenner on the 3 "contenders" ...

    £6 on Garcia @ 4/6
    £2 on FdB @ 6-1
    £2 on Puel @ 14-1

As long as no-one else gets it, I should at least get my £10 back.

I still have a preference for Garcia to get it though

Puel just seems to have the air of Alain "Reggie" Perrin about him.

Hopefully over the weekend we will all be put out of our misery as Garcia is announced .

Koeman was our most prestigious managerial appointment. Mainly in terms of his playing career. His managerial career would be described as solid, but I was excited by the appointment because I knew who he was.

Rudi Garcia would be without question our most impressive managerial appointment. To win a domestic double in France and challenge for titles in Italy on his CV, we are unlikely to attract a more accomplished and experienced manager.

It's of course no guarantee of success and it's another manager without EPL experience, but on paper and from what I've read about his style. It looks like an astute appointment

I've had that bloody Spanish song stuck in my head since I saw the video of Rudi performing it yesterday.

Agreed SA. Think there's a far better potential upside with Garcia. Puel for me has flattered to deceive at clubs that performed better either just before he got there, or just after he left. Doesn't seem too consistent season to season at some of his clubs either.

Another Saints fan just suggested to me that we'd have one hell of an end of season awards night with Rudi and Shane performing as a double act, and dubbed them the new Simon and Garfunkel.

I rather relish the relentless bloody minded negativity punctuated with moments of sublime brilliance that characterises Italian football, so I'm not remotely bothered by any of that.
