The thread's long because, unlike here, we have a very interactive forum. If you actually read it, there's not much bitterness there. Just annoyance at the manner of his departure, and mild amusement at how much you're paying for a fairly good, but not great, manager.
His record in the PL is impressive, he didn't put a trophy in the cabinet but took Southampton forward year on year.
If he manages that at Goodison then I will be happy.
Yep. I think if you get the structure right around him, it'll work out fine. He's very much a 'first team coach' though and considers that, and only that, as his job. He needs a good framework to succeed (I believe).
Yeah, I did. But I'm (and most of us aren't) terribly fussed that he's gone either. I didn't want him to stay if he was only going to commit to seeing out the final year either.
Rest assured he will.
