Andros Townsend’s summer of disappointment could be set to take a turn for the better, with Crystal Palace prepared to offer the winger a route back into the Premier League. Townsend has endured a difficult past month following his omission from Roy Hodgson’s England squad for Euro 2016 and Newcastle’s relegation to the Sky Bet Championship. However, brighter times could be on the horizon, with the Guardian claiming Palace boss Alan Pardew intends to trigger the release clause in the 24-year-old’s contract at St James’ Park. Townsend is believed to have an £8m release clause in his current deal which clubs in the top half of the Premier League can activate, those in the bottom half, however, would have to cough up around £10.5m for his services.

Just seen that Walsall have a 25% sell-on clause on Deeney, they'll be desperately praying that an offer gets accepted.
Their chairman is a proper **** though, he pockets most of the cash they get. He took most of what they got for Will Grigg and Troy Deeney and didn't really reinvest it in the squad (they were hoping to spend on transfers, instead they brought in Nicky Featherstone on a free.) They have a very small budget and often sign players on free transfers from bigger clubs. Bonser is up there with Allam in terms of ****yness.
