We most certainly looked like we were going to lose 3-0 in the first half.

The reality is Bruce is a couple of attacking tactics (for want of a better phase) from being a top half premier league manger. If this was the case with a relitivley new manger then fair does, but he's proved time and time Again that he's not going to evolve. 10 years ago I would have fainted of someone of the calibre of Steve Bruce wanted to mange our club. But we've moved on now and Steve Bruce has been a magnificent servent. With the only blot on his record last seasons pitiful showing. The time is right to step aside Steve. Thank you for everything

Stood on Bunkers for many a year, it's irrelevent! Southampton got shut of Adkins as an example post promotion, they've moved onwards and upwards since. I for one am not undermining what Brucey has achieved with us, I just don't think he has demonstrated he has the ability to move the club further forward. I don't accept the suggestion that he deserves the opportunity to manage us next season cause he got us there! He knows the Championship inside out, his football is dire, and in my view he failed to get the best out the players at his disposal, and that he signed, consistently. Thank you and goodbye! To your credit you haven't liked others cited the journey into Europe, what a complete waste of an opportunity and experience, shambles!

Cup half full, cup half empty. I think the point made that Bruce's City put in some terrible performances last season, but so did all our rivals (Charlton 2 Boro 0 anyone?), is a strong one. The preceding relegation was a tragedy, but the club's investment, reputation and ability to attract players always made that a possibility. I do believe the gloom surrounding the early Europa League exit was something the squad never quite recovered from.

Ultimately, when considering Bruce's record I do think the cup seems a little emptier than it should because of all the Allam inspired bollocks that revolved above his head. And SB can only be partly blamed for that.

Live in the past or look to the future; Brucey out!

If he serves up more of what we've had to put up with for the last 18 months, the Yanks will have him gone sooner rather than later!

I agree with a lot of this. And a part of me
Is ashamed for wanting Bruce to step aside but..... How can we ever progress of we want to carry on being "little hull city"? The medium term dream is prem stability, mid table mediocrity, followed by European adventure. Bruce can't take us there

Brucey did deliver the European adventure Kev, only he screwed it up the extent it seemed more like a weekend break it was that short lived!

This debate will crop again in January! SB will be here for the first half of the season & we'll all know in Jan what needs to done if we've not improved. But until then we should get behind him & the team.

This is the point really, anybody attending that match will wonder just how we got away with it and why Bruce decided to turn things completely on their head tactic wise and give Derby a massive boost instead of going for a goal in the first half

Totally disagree on this one, it seemed like an inevitable watching in the stands that they would go on equalise and make the final, how they didn't seemed more like luck than judgement when all we needed to do was set-up to score a goal and seal our place

And that for me was the most unforgivable part of his tenure. He loves rolling out the "little old hull city" line, but if he really understood what the club and true fan base was about he would have thrown everything at our European adventure. **** the premier league and its riches. We ended up short anyway, a proper campaign in Europe would have lived forever in our memories. I know hindsight is always 20/20. But in my eyes he ****ed up big time there.
He's a great bloke, but with our squad this season we should have walked the league. And I don't just mean finished top, we should have blown it away. It's easy to sit here and play arm chair manager but ****ing hell..... I love Brucie and I'm glad we're back, but if people don't think we're in a rut they're deluded. We need new owners and a new manger. Fresh start. Thank you Steve Bruce, you will be forever a city legend but please step aside

Bruce till Christmas seems like a good idea to me anyway unless he has decided to go, just not convinced that there is a suitable replacement waiting in the wings or available. Maybe the squad we have will be better suited to the Prem and also there is no need to rotate the squad so much as in the Championship so Bruces job is easier

I think its inevitable he will be us for the start of the season (if he decides to stay), after all if nothing else the Yanks will not want to run the risk of alienating the fans in the same way the Allams have by making short term knee jerk decisions before they've got their feet under the table! The only downside i have with that is Brucey will bring more of his 'own' players in, and thereby compromise whoever may replace him further down the line. For that reason alone, I would prefer he bows out on a high and goes now!

Why does another manager need to be available? If we're serious we should offer a bundle for a great manager already employed elsewhere... Everyone else does it! I wonder what Dyche could do with a squad like ours for example. Or should we be aiming even higher?
