Very appropriate. Not going to call him fat or ginger, but from this day forth the Lying Dutchman he shall be known.
You're right. Some people are fat; it's not their fault. Some people are ginger; nothing wrong with that and again it's unavoidable. But lying is avoidable.
No - but I think she may be somehow related to a certain ginger football manager .... "I can't ever imagine any reason anyone would have for hating you. I never would ...." <quote>
Well at least we now know why FGS was always banging on about us being polite to returning players and managers. Personally I don't tend to join in the abusive stuff. Now if the next time Everton are at St Marys, the Northam could get their act together in a rousing rendition of "...one Judas Iscariot, there's only Judas Iscariot..." Then I would certainly have to join in. I wonder if FGS would acknowledge with his usually clappy hands?
http://www.telegraph.co.uk/football...tment-will-be-seen-as-day-everton-banished-u/ Pretty good article
Actually found it a fairly repugnant piece. If that is what "football aficianados" should be looking for, football is dead and buried.
I thought it was awful, degrading and the bloke may as well have started with a YouTube clip with the opening of Z cars. I thought the bloke came across as a patronising cock showing zero empathy towards Southampton fans. He didn't even consider the possible fool hardiness of just lavishing money around. If he thinks this is good, normal or even ok, then he cares little for football. Total cock and probably a season ticket wielding toffee flavoured one at that. I'll show them Bitter Blue.
Meh I thought it was alright, bit hyperbolic in places but the overall theme was right. Everton obviously haven't joined the "PL aristocracy", but that football is basically all about who pays the most and the clubs that do get their way the majority of the time.
Speaking as one who pitched his metaphorical tent in this corner of Britain many decades ago, I have rarely read such tosh. In my mind, the Queen got it right in 1966 when she asked Brain Labone at the Cup Final where Everton were from: "Liverpool, ma'am" "Ah yes, we had your big team here last year." Since then we had the wonderful Ball, Harvey, Kendall era and mid 80's when they seriously mounted a challenge to Liverpool. So a couple of times they appeared above the parapet. Part of the "aristocracy"? On your bike, mate. Mega bucks might do for the blue half of Liverpool what it has done in Manchester, but this is total hogwash.
I'm with FLT. Why do all the Everton fans seem to delight in rubbing salt in the wounds? They have less class than even Liverpool and Spurs.
Probably because lots of Saints fans were laughing at Koeman being linked to Everton a month or so ago and taking the piss out of Everton fans who thought it was a possibility. It is just part of football BANTZ.
That's a telegraph article, not a fan giving it banter. They are acting like they have acheived greatness already. Imagine how they would react if that was a Chelsea article after they had just stolen Stones? Exactly how saints fans are acting.
Oh yeah definitely, but one thing that the majority of football fans cannot be accused of is rational or thinking about future possibilities when it comes to stuff like this. Give it a month or 2 and we can laugh at all the Everton fans about Lukaku/Stones, its just the way football fans work.
I couldn't get passed the first paragraph, though you could take it as a bit of a compliment. Being able to lure a manager from a better club is some achievement I suppose. Got nothing against Everton....there is only one villain here.
