Yeah we can do better. He was a great player. Then he made his big move to Real and it all went downhill from there. I hoped he would do well in his loan stint with us but he was never played properly. Don't even know if he would have been any good if he was played properly anyway. Haven't seen him play since. Even against us...he was anonymous in the short time he was on the pitch.

I hope we can do better... but that remains to be seen. Where we are now is as a result of not doing better for 5 long years

henderson, milner, allen, stewart, lucas on a zimmer frame...

Can is apparently a right back or something according to low...

We went from Rafa foolishly writing off alonso when we has maschernao alonso and gerrard with lucas as their nerdy kid to this.

I really hope we can do better but everyone is after players and we have to pick guys up (and missed alli after he was DRIVEN by his manager to our ground)... like.. FFS.

I really hope grujic is tops.

Can isn't good enough to be in that German midfield simple as that, but he is good enough to be in the team so he has adapted.

We put him as CB even though he was good enough to be part of our midfield.

I say fair play to him for not sulking. he played LB last friendly.

German utility player our most vital CM.

    and yes rodgers was mad.

however.... the german midfield has a lot of good players so can is making do. He can develop if he gives the work rate consistently. He's biggest issue is hubris and dropping the work rate. as I've pointed out coquelin and matic.. exactly the same... its not a player issue its a generation issue i think.

He needs to learn from that midfield. Kroos, Schweinsteiger, Khadira is a great team to learn from.

    absolutely.

Khedira and Kross are there to look at gundogan won't be... but really there's a huge amount in that midfield even in fornt of this so called controlling midfield arez. Ozil, muller on the right, rues.. won't be there either.. sane might be.

I think an ideal partner for Can in midfield is a player like like Gareth Barry at his peak.

Weigl and Kimmich are probably the most exciting talents in the Germany midfield.

Great players hoovered up by BVB and Munich and now emerging stars. Have to be jealous.

    Emre mor has joined dortmund.

In the end the reality is these clubs have a virtual monopoly over that league and can get anyone in.. they assure medals every year and CL and then sell on.

There is a reason the chinese that own the club that teixteria went to just bought inter milan... easy league to buy success in....

anyone buying into england is nuts.. lots of money but no way you re getting enough players in to compete at CL and at home cos these other clubs just say come on... easy life.. great weather... all the hookers you want.. medals galore.

    Looks like Man U fans have been editing Wikipedia again;

'André Filipe Tavares Gomes (born 30 July 1993) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays for England club Manchester United as a central midfielder.'

Last I heard they hadn't signed him. They also give his number as 21, which is still in use by Herrera <laugh>

25 Million is short for Mahrez, typical Gooners if true.
