Be good business for Leicester that. Can't argue with the season he's just had and he's improved no end, but can't see him (or Leicester) repeating it and I still don't think he's a £20m player. He'll flop at Arsenal, or most teams in the premier league, just look at how ****e he looks in the England team. Can't see it happening though, it would be comparable to signing Ben Arfa or Tom Ince and using them as target men. Nobody is that dim, specially not Wenger.
It would be good business for Leicester as it would be for Arsenal too. He is in form, he runs the channels well and offers something different to what they have You've got to take transfer fees out of your thinking this summer as the new tv deal will distort them quite significantly Will Vardy improve Arsenals squad? Of course he will
Chuba Akpom has been given the squad number 37 at Arsenal and will feature in their first team next season. Hayden is to go out on loan again. I'd probably buy Hayden while his price his low.
I think if SB stays there is a fair chance he will try to do that. Certainly what I have seen of him so far, he has a future.
Good question. Two very different players; Hayden is much more defensive, while Norwood is in a similar mould to Livermore. There would be question marks over both players game time though as I imagine there'll be a marquee signing in each position this season.
Agreed John. Hayden would be a good signing if we can get him. Maybe offer Arsenal first refusal to get him back in the future. Other rumours / news Real Madrid to extend the contracts of Romaldo, Bale. Pepe, Isco and possibly Rodriquez. Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan has confirmed that Chelsea have been in contact for his services. AC Milan are showing interest in Aston Villa left-back Jordan Amavi.
Middlesbrough are reportedly looking at Mathieu Flamini on a free transfer. An upgrade on Meyler, not world class but definitely Premier League quality.
Everton & Southampton close to finalising £5m compensation deal for Ronald Koeman to become Everton manager (SSN).
Patrice Evra has signed a new one-year contract with Juventus. Ex-Tiger Jamie Devitt has left Morecambe and joined Carlisle United.
they dont like a quiet close season do they....Southampton seem to always are either getting a new manager or rebuilding a squad after selling them all
Swindon "reject a £500,000 bid" from an unnamed Championship club for striker Nicky Ajose. Peterborough sign Newport left-back Andrew Hughes & Mansfield centre-back Ryan Tafazolli. Borussia Dortmund have signed Sebastian Rode from Bayern Munich on a 4-year deal.
It's been reported on NW businessdesk.com that Giggs is set to take over at Bolton. Odd move for him, think he could aim higher.
That story's been running for a couple of weeks, but the bookies have dropped him down the list overnight, Nigel Adkins is now massive favourite (and ex-Tiger Phil Parkinson is currently second favourite).
First time Ive seen it on an actual news site rather than football rumours, althoyugh bear in mind this is the same outlet that reported the Johnny Depp is moving to Manchester story..... Adkins would make a lot more sense. Giggs is widely reported to be contemplating severing his ties with the Old Trafford giants after 30 years as a player, caretaker and assistant manager. Odds on his appointment to the Macron Stadium club which was relegated to the Championship at the end of last season have been cut dramatically to ¼ on. Giggs was Louis van Gaal’s assistant following his retirement as a player, but new reds boss Jose Mourinho has brought his own long standing right-hand man Rui Faria, leaving the ex-winger out in the cold.
David James on Talksport, re Vardy to Arsenal: "It's either gonna happen or it's not, depending on whether there's any truth in the rumour".
