On reflection, I have decided that our next manager will have to be Maradona or Simeone, for reasons which should be obvious to any Saints fan.
Yes it's really weird the most important part of the team structure costs less than a reserve defender.
Despite being on 7m a year I expect Harry Read and his academy mates have paid for his taxi to Liverpool. Come to think of it if anyone knows how I can donate towards it let me know.
I wonder if we will get it straight from Ron at the Everton Press Conference; "I was happy at Sousesampton but I was offered twice as much money by Everton and Sousesampton were not interested in matching this."
My Portuguese brother in law says AVB is a great manager. He was a bit dubious of Koeman's quality as was I when we signed him. The conversation I had with him yesterday over AVB yesterday (we had a BBQ) started something like: Me : What do you think of Villas Boas Him : Top Manager Me : Seems to have been a failure over here though, How can he be that good Him : The guy broke all Mourinho's records at Porto. He would be a great manager for a club that has realistic ambitions. Still not my fave for the job but I'm warming to him.
This is the problem I have when we lose a manager. We get a list, and let's be honest it is generated by us fans and usually only us fans, and despite the fact that most of the 'names' are top international managers with pretty impressive records somehow they are not good enough for us... It drives me to distraction along with the 'let's poach' Howe because as we are Southampton that's okay but if anyone does it to us..... This isn't a dig any individuals on here as I think nearly everyone is fairly easy going and civilised and I really like this forum because of that.
Yeah I'll be interested to see what he says. My guess is that today it'll only be a statement issued and the Everton media guys will make sure it's basically just him talking about the fantastic opportunity at Everton and the incredibly ambitious plans the new owner has. It'll be interesting what Koeman says the when and if the media get to ask him some questions.
Yeah - I would really like to know what goes on in the minds of some of our fans - mainly on Twitter. But somehow a list of AVB, de Boer, Pelgrini and such like are all bad options. Only triple Europa winning Unai Emery seems to satisfy everyone. Oh and Matt le Tiss cheekily tweeting a pic of him and his assistant Frani Bengali in the SMS dugout. As if that would be a good appointment FFS.
Don't forget the obligatory holding a scarf in the empty stands photo - surely there will be one of those?
Saintsweb getting even worse. A random guy saying Koeman got played by his agent and didn't want to go but it's too late now... Also having a go at the board for some reason.
I started watching highlights of the last game of the season last night but had to stop when all I could hear was the crowd singing, "There's only one Ronald Koeman"...
Neither do I.Showing class in the manner of going is important. Successful and popular managers who are unfortunately sacked get a special place as well. But they need to have a bit of class about them too. It's all about their behaviour in the end.
I made the error of visiting the UI because this is now like an addiction, looking for any crumb of good news or anything really, and they seem to be having some sort of war between about five posters. It's got nothing to do with Saints and all about who they really are and multiple identities. It's very bizarre, very sweary and very aggressive and I'm sure quite a few of them have some underlying mental health problems, which isn't a joke, I'm serious.
How exactly would that happen? Ron wouldn't go unless he wanted to. Saints web inhabited by some idiots.
